Wow. Wow. Wow. Worcester audiences were lucky enough to see Megan Hilty’s last concert before stepping into the role of Madeline Ashton in Broadway’s DEATH BECOMES HER. Megan and Jennifer Simard are firing on all cylinders in two tour de force performances in one of the funniest musical comedies Broadway has seen in years! This comic spectacle is not to be missed. And Christopher Sieber has never been better either! Congrats to Megan, Jennifer, Chris, Christopher Gattelli and the whole cast and creative creative team behind DEATH BECOMES HER!

RIP Linda. If I was a playwright, there’s probably no one I’d want delivering one of my lines more than the phenomenal Linda Lavin. She was a multi-talented wonder. As a kid, I delighted in her performance in The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife. Much like when I’d cackle as a young child listening to Bea, Rue, Betty, and Estelle deliver those geriatric s*x zingers as the innuendo flew over my head (their delivery and timing was just such perfection that as a toddler I knew it was funny even if I didn’t know what ‘it’ was), Linda was another master at delivering a comic line. I have seen The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife several times since my youth (hoping to recapture some of the bliss I experienced during the original), yet no one has ever replicated the magic of Linda’s performance - even though many of the jokes make so much more sense to me now! And to later learn this hilarious actress was also a celebrated sitcom and musical theater star was just icing on the cake. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched and his deconstruction of Linda’s ‘You’ve Got Possibilities’ or listened to her recording of the Sondheim gem “The Boy From…” from The Mad Show - I’ll never get tired of her renditions of these song! The world is a brighter place because Linda Lavin shared her talents with it!

Final Thought: Upon reviewing Linda’s body of work this morning, I just realized she was Kermit’s doctor in my favorite childhood movie, Muppets Take Manhattan. Consider my 🤯.

Broadway in Worcester wishes you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season!

We are grateful for our stars, students, supporters and audiences who made 2024 an unforgettable year!

This year, we had some incredible talents perform for our community, experience our city (massages at Thomas Rothwell Spa, signature desserts from On The Rise and Queen’s Cups, turkey sandwiches from BirchTree Bread, delicious post-performance dinners at Pasta Mani and Ruby Doo’s, Worcester memento shopping in the Canal District, etc.), and nurture the next generation of artists (over 450 students and teachers attended our free master classes!).

Special thanks to Santino Fontana (with Andrew Bourgoin), Megan Hilty (with Matt Cusson), and Christine Ebersole & Billy Stritch for making 2024 a joyful, music-filled year for all who were a part of our programming.

And to you, our audiences, - may this upcoming holiday season be merry and 2025 be full of much more Broadway bliss!

Nothing brings a smile to our faces like Harvey Ball’s smiley face or John Mulaney. Trust us and see - Mulaney, Richard Kind, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and Fred Armisen are firing on all cylinders with Simon Richard’s delightfully absurd comic (and frequently touching) stories about love.
