Somewhere Out There - Music and Arts Festival

Somewhere Out There - Music and Arts Festival Bringing together the best musicians from Washington County and beyond to showcase the best music, art, scenery, and good vibes that Vermont has to offer!

Come and join us to enjoy some of the best local music central Vermont has to offer! The location just off route 12, 3.2 miles north of Worcester Village is secluded and beautiful. The North Branch River crosses the festival site, so come early and take a dip in the cleanest, sweetest water around. Wild blueberries ought to be in season, so wander the fields and graze the land between sets. Hiking

trails galore, a variety of options of places to camp, and when your ready to return to the civilization of the festival, follow the beats to a crowd of good hearted festival goers soaking in the pleasures of a Vermont summers day and some world class music. Rugged Ridge Forest, an organic sugarbush in Worcester Vermont is hosting this event. The sugar shack will be transformed into an art gallery and a stage will be erected in a nearby field to showcase the tunes. There will be live glassblowing demonstrations, a cash bar, opportunities to swim, throw a disc, dance, explore,or just relax! A Kids Tent will be open by day with activities for the little ones. The festival is also a fundraiser for doctors without borders. Everyday we in central Vermont have to remember that we pretty much live in paradise, but somewhere out there, people are struggling to survive under much more desperate circumstances. Doctors Without Borders is one of the most righteous organizations we've ever heard of, putting their staff at risk and foregoing their own opportunities for economic gain in order to provide medical care for people in war zones and regions suffering from endemic disease, without regular access to modern medical care. For that reason, we wanted to bring this great celebration of local art, music, and food full circle and support this great cause. Not only will 50% of net proceeds go to Doctors without Borders, but we will also hold a raffle with all proceeds going to support this great cause. So come and celebrate the easy living of a Vermont summer, and in so doing support a great cause with a global humanitarian mission.

A huge thank you to the artists, organizers, volunteers, and attendees who came together to make Somewhere Out There 2019 a raging success! We overcame a thunderstorm, and a power outage, with just a comically undersized generator and the tech genius of our plucky sound guy. All in all it was a beautiful celebration of life in the foothills of Worcester, Vermont that a little storm couldn't wash out!

We also raised $2,795 for the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights. Its just a drop in the bucket, and there is a lot more good work to be done, but it feels good to send good energy in the right direction.

Thanks all!

Here's another rockstar to look forward to this August!!

"Bishop LaVey, A DoomFolk Singer-Songwriter hailing from the growing Montpelier Music scene creates his own twisted brand of folk music. While the guitar stylings are similar to the folk acts of the mid 2000s, his lyricism focuses less on old labor stories and American folklore and more on themes ranging from addiction and off-the-rails personal relationships to the apocalypse and dystopia. His vocal stylings do even more to separate him from the herd with a voice that sounds like a bizarre cross between Tom Waits and Layne Staley.”

Thank you all for coming out and making the Somewhere Out There 2018 - Music and Arts Festival a raging success! Together we were able to raise $4,116 for our two causes, the Community Health Initiative in Haiti, and the Johnny Morris Fund.

Not only were we able to amass such a generous contribution to two worthy causes, but we had a great time doing it. Thank you to all the attendees, donors, musicians, artists, vendors, and volunteers who put a lot of blood, sweat, and smiles, into what was truly an awesome night!

Please remember that there is always more good work to do, and to make space in your life to do something for the benefit of others. Any further donations to our causes can be made directly to CHI (below)or make a donation to Johnny via his friend and musical collaborator, Dustin Byerly (aka Sed One). Thank you all again so much for what was truly an awesome celebration of life.

We hope to see you all again soon, Somewhere Out There...

Every dollar makes an impact on our projects, programs, initiatives, and in the lives of our Haitian partners, patients, and friends.

The festival was a beautiful success with great music, great art, and great people coming together to enjoy the beautiful foothills of Worcester, Vermont. The musicians, artists, and crew put their all into making sure everyone had a great time, and we decided to put our all into the cause we support. Based on our initial profit sharing scheme (half of net proceeds), Doctors Without Borders wasn't going to get a very tasty slice of the pie. So we took 100% of the gate, presales, merchandise, and vendor fees and put it in an envelope to Doctors Without Borders. These folks are risking their lives to deliver medical care for the worlds most vulnerable in very compromised circumstances, and are worthy of our support. So I hope everyone who came out and forked over their hard earned dollars for a night of celebration takes comfort in knowing their debauchery was for a good cause! And if anyone needs any syrup, we happen to know a place where you can get some.... See ya'll next year!
