From raging fiddle tunes, to saxophone solos and unrequited love songs, the music of The Faux Paws would be hard to pin down with standard genre descriptions. The trio’s contagious groove, and feel-good melting pot folk music has been honed over ten years of playing together, and is the sound of three close friends (two of which happen to be brothers), who feel a musical kinship that transcends any stylistic limitations. Now, after nearly a decade of music making, the bi-coastal trio are releasing their self-titled debut album “The Faux Paws”

Next week! March 15th, 16th and 17th come see Theatre Oobleck in The Hunchback Variations!

Theater Oobleck has been a stalwart of Chicago’s fringe theater community, presenting original works without a director, for over 35 years. The Foundry Theater is honored to present this play that has been one of the most successful productions in Theater Oobleck’s history, presented to critical acclaim in Chicago, Houston, Austin, St. Louis, Washington D.C., Hamburg, Germany, and the Edmonton Fringe.

Bringing collected oral history to life, this new one-act play with music explores the historic 1963 march on Washington. Revered as the day that Martin Luther King Jr. made his famous ‘I Have A Dream’ speech in August of 1963, the event drew over a quarter of a million people together in a peaceful gathering, and was a shining moment in the progression of equality in America, as well as a pivotal action in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s.
