Sharing some of the wonderful photos from The 3rd Annual "Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration" at The Chapel On The Green NFP on Saturday, December 12th, 2024. What a fun filled day packed with old fashioned traditions for the entire family. We would like to thank all the families that attended and supported this event, all the organizations that shared their talents for such a wide variety of holiday entertainment, Santa & Mrs. Claus, The local Boy Scouts that nourished us with a hot dog lunch, The Treasure Bread ladies, all the people that baked and packaged all the unique items for our Sweet Shoppe Bake Sale and all our members that help host this fun event ! We cannot wait to start thinking of next years event.

The Community Children's Choir led by Julia Forshee will be singing their hearts out at 3 rd Annual "Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration" at The Chapel On The Green on Saturday, December 14th. This group will be performing from 2:00 - 3:00 following the YPAC Dancers. Join us for a full day of family entertainment, hot dog lunch with our local Boy Scout troop, crafts and story time for the kiddies from 11:00 - 3:00, visit with Santa from 1:00 -3:00.
Our grand finale will be the Yorkville High School Madrigal Singers, Brass & Strings who will perform at 5:00 - 6:00pm. See flyer listed below in comments for all the events and timeline for each.

We are pleased to have Sherri Farley return to The Chapel On The Green to perform on her hammered dulcimer at the 3rd Annual "Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration" on Saturday, December 14th. She will be playing live holiday music from 12:00 noon -1:00. The hammered dulcimer is a musical instrument with a sounding board or box, typically trapezoidal in shape, over which strings of graduated length are stretched , played by being struck with handheld hammers. A group of the YPAC dancers will be doing a short performance from "The Nutcracker" at Chapel On The Green's 3 rd Annual "Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration" on Saturday,December 14 th. They will be performing from 1:00 -2:00. Plan on spending the day with us. We have an entire day of holiday family entertainment .. Visit with Santa from 1:00 - 3:00, hot dog lunch with the local boy scouts from 11:00 - 2:00, crafts and story time for the kiddos from 11:00 - 3:00 with the scouts in the lower level. You won't want to miss the Community Children's Choir performance 2:00 - 3:00 . See flyer posted below in comments that has a complete listing and time line of all the events that day. These are the unique type of individually wrapped treats that will be available for sale at the “Sweet Shoppe Bake Sale “ at The Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration “ at The Chapel On The Green on Sat Dec 14 th from 10:00 - 6:00 . This bake sale is not your ordinary bake sale !! Bring the family and enjoy a fun filled day of holiday entertainment , visit with Santa (1:00-3:00). Let the local Boy Scouts serve you a yummy hot dog lunch and have the kiddos partake in a couple of craft projects and enjoy story time from 11:00-3:00. We are excited to have Aelita, one of our Chapel members showcasing her line of Archi Spices at the "Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration"at the Yorkville Chapel On The Green on Saturday, December 14th from 10:00 - 6:00 . Aelita is an herbalist with 20 years experience. Her seasonings have NO chemicals, additives,sugar,MDG, GMO and are gluten free. Her seasonings can be used before, during and after cooking. She will also have her Elderberry Immune Booster Syrup and line of organic jams available. She has many items that will be available for holiday gifts and she will be located with the Pederson sisters of Treasure Breads in the room next to the Sweet Shoppe Bake Sale . We experienced a beautiful part of Maria and Sean’s ceremony at The Chapel On The Green this past weekend . The feet washing ceremony is a Christian - based tradition , which is representative of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples in John 13:1-17, as a symbol of love and humility .

Can’t wait until tomorrow when we will deck out the Chapel on The Green with the breathtaking white icicle lights and fresh evergreen boughs with festive red bows on our railing in front . With our new historical themed sign illuminated with soft white lighting it is a sight to behold. It starts the “Old Fashioned Christmas “ feeling that will continue on through the holidays. Our local Boy Scout Troop will be offering a Hot Dog lunch from 11:00 - 2:00 at The Yorkville Chapel On The Green on Saturday, December 14th during our entire day of family fun for our 3rd Annual "Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration". Bring the kids .. to visit Santa & Mrs. Claus from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. The scouts will be helping with fun kids crafts and story time in the lower level from 11:00-3:00 pm. You cannot miss our unique "Sweet Shoppe Bake Sale " that will run from 10:00 - 6:00.. Lots of individually wrapped treats that are great stocking stuffers, teachers or hostess gifts. We are so excited to have a live performance of The Oswego Presbyterian Church Bell Choir perform at Yorkville Chapel On The Green's "Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration" on Saturday December 14th, 2024 . They will be performing a medley of Christmas music 3:30 Pm -4:30. This bell choir has a group of 14 talented performers.. Come join us for their performance and following them will be our grand finale of the day. The Yorkville High School Madrigal Singers, Strings and Brass will perform 5:00 -6:00 pm.
