Six years ago, we were featured on the cover of The 2019 Growth Report in The Business Journal. I can’t believe it’s been six years?! Craft beer was booming, and here we were—just a small family from Youngstown / Campbell, Ohio—driven by a dream: to craft a beer that truly represented our city. At the time, Youngstown didn’t have a signature brew, so we thought, why not go for it?!

What followed was a journey we could have never imagined. A global pandemic, skyrocketing costs, shifting trends, brewery closures, relentless road construction, and even a building explosion—challenges that tested us at every turn. But in Youngstown, tough times are nothing new. It’s part of the fabric of this city. Nothing comes easy here, but quitting isn’t in our DNA.

We live by our motto: Tough times… And every morning, we rise to face another fight, to put out another fire. It reminds us of one of our favorite sports—boxing. You take the hit, you get knocked down, but you always get back up.

And today? Today is a good day—it’s brew day! We’re working on something special, a historic collaboration that bridges the past and the future. A beer that’s a dream come true for us at Penguin and we cannot wait to share this announcement. With your continued support, we will keep showing up for you and the city. Thank you!

Holy Cannoli, our collaboration beer with One Hot Cookie is out. This decadent pastry stout brewed with rich chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and a hint of orange, is back on tap today in the taproom! 🍺

Himrod Haze IPA – Hazy IPA – 6.5% ABV

The taproom heater is fixed! 🎉 A big thank you to everyone who braved the cold with us over the past week. Heating a large facility in the winter is no small feat, and it’s especially tough when the heat goes out during the coldest stretch of the year. Huge gratitude to Derrick from Youngstown Flea for stepping in with Patio Lamps to keep the lights on. 🙌
