Do you agree with the teachings of love and compassion for all?

Love and compassion is one of the central principles of Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, and more.

In the last couple of weeks, a sweet child in Oklahoma was brutally killed for dressing differently than whatever the 'norm' is. This child was not doing harm to anyone else but minding their own business. That is not OK.

I'm mortified to hear that a state senator from Oklahoma has called this beautiful child 'filth' and stating that Oklahoma is working to get rid of 'filth' in the name of religion. Um, no we're not.

Last I recall, Jesus' teachings were about loving one another. Jesus preached a message of love and compassion for all people. And not just the ones who were just like us. ALL people, rich, poor, housed, unhoused, well, ill, brown, purple, yellow, white. All humans have value and freedom of choice and the right to express their own uniqueness. LOVE one another.

I don't care what religion you are or are not. LOVE one another.

When someone takes public office in the United States, they swear to uphold the Constitution of the US, not make up their own rules. even If they are not in agreement with them. This job is not based on preaching your particular version of religion - that is not fair.

The First Amendment of the Constitution says that the government cannot establish an official religion or favor one religion over another. This means that ALL religions and non-religions have the same rights, and we should not have some bastardized version of 'Christianity' pushing their twisted values. Because Christianity teaches love one another, not 'get rid of' one another. And anyone who cannot do their jobs to do a government position should not be in public office. Period.

Furthermore, I'm just saying it now. That man is not a representative of Christianity, or Oklahoma. What that unfortunate Senator said and reiterated is not, loving one another, but it is the absolute furthest from what Jesus taught. Oklahoma and the US, we are better than this. Don't stand for someone teaching, preaching, and justifying hate in any form in our state. LOVE and compassion for ALL people, please.

A really photogenic place for a quick wedding is on the steps of the State Capitol. I can definitely meet you there for the I Do's and then you can stay afterwards and take all the photos your heart desires!

If you're a nature lover and want a peaceful wedding in a FREE location, head over to the Martin Park nature center. They have beautiful, scenic spots, like this popular bridge. We often see folks getting family pictures done here. A fall wedding at sunset would be lovely on this very spot. If you're having a micro wedding, why decorate or pay to reserve a whole venue? OKC has many very beautiful restaurants with amazing decorations and vibes, from outdoor lights, insane Christmas decorations, and incredible architecture.

For example, have you been to a relatively new restaurant called Tellers downtown? It used to be a bank, and wow, is it a pretty place!

Here's an idea! Make a dinner reservation at Christmas, bring your wedding license and meet me in front of the tree inside for a gorgeous wedding that all you had to do was show up and eat dinner for!

Are you an animal lover? Wouldn't it be cool to get married in front of a mega aquarium, and then have a great little party right there? Or we could do the ceremony in your party room and then send everyone off to look at the fish, and come back for cake and snacks!

OKC has a place called Blue Zoo and it's inside Quail Springs Mall. You can book a birthday party package there that gets you ten admissions and a party room that you can decorate to your heart's delight...It's $149.95 on the weekdays and $249.95 on weekends.

Now that's a unique and affordable wedding venue for your small wedding! The party room can seat up to 50 people.

On a budget? Did you know you can get really amazing wedding gowns from Amazon? Here are my tips:

1) Check the size chart! A lot of the gorgeous gowns coming from amazon use different sizing, so be sure you're getting what matches your measurements! I got an AMAZING red gown shipped from China for a cruise recently. It was 2-3 size names bigger than my standard US size but it fit beautifully because I checked the measurements!

2) Allow yourself a few weeks for shipping, if you can for the really fancy gowns. If you can't there are a ton of other options on Amazon prime that can be there in a day or two.

3) Plan on time to iron, and fluff your gown since it was shipped. Even consider dropping it by the local dry cleaners for an ironing job to make sure you look perfect on your special day!

Have you heard about the venues at Will Rogers Gardens, or even the gardens themselves? They have several room types and price levels including a conservatory. But a tiny outdoor wedding on a bridge amidst the beautiful flowers would be amazing too!

This place is GORGEOUS and VERY inexpensive. I've hosted a couple of events here with food and drink even and it was just perfect. The staff were friendly and super helpful and accommodating there. Check out the Gardens as you inexpensive venue. I'll meet you there and leave the party for you! I can even bring the cake and punch!

Imagine yourself having a pretty little ceremony right here in front of the waterfall with a couple of witnesses, and then off to lunch or dinner! How lovely and you save the money for a trip or downpayment on a home instead of the mega wedding.

Did you know that Oklahoma and Canadian county judges do NOT perform daily marriage ceremonies any more? But...you CAN get married on the courthouse steps if you call me! Just go get your marriage license, and arrange to meet me there! Actually, I can meet you anywhere for a quick ceremony. Make sure to call in advance so I can meet you when and where you want to be. We can go from the simplest ceremony to a full on shebang! Make it your day, your way!

Looking for an inexpensive but beautiful venue to have a lovely outdoor wedding? Yukon's Chisolm Trial Park (Boot Hill) has a pavilion, and two lovely gazebos, along with a gorgeous bridge for the ceremony. I've had several events here and they've been super easy to get to with plenty of parking and no hassle.

I love unique and quirky things to help make your day special yet without costing a fortune. Here are edible paper butterflies that can be added to Sams Club white on white cupcakes, or even on top of their "Shimmering Elegance" cakes - imagine these draping down a three tier cake - how lovely! Your guests will be talking about how cool these edible butterflies were for a long time. And they're less than $11 for 48! I love them.

Another fun location idea for folks who just aren't down for the traditional church-type wedding. How about getting married AT the tattoo parlor and then sealing your committment with sweet wedding tattoos? I can meet you there! I bet the tattoo artist would even witness for you. Make sure you have your marriage license with you when I show up for the ceremony! It's not hard to do. Here's how to get a marriage license in Canadian County OK.

If you want the simplest, quickest ceremony, I can meet you outside the courthouse, or any courthouse in Oklahoma right after you pick up your license! In Canadian county, there are a couple of lovely trees out front where a sweet little ceremony would be perfect! All you need is your couple, two witnesses, and a license.
