As Brandon and I prepare for Low T 2019, I wanted to share some thoughts/insight about what this event means to us. This event is our way to give back to this awesome community. We feel that Beau's Buddies Cancer Fund is a deserving charity and worth our time and efforts to raise as much money as we can. This group gives to everyone... male or female, young or old, “Friends helping Friends"...I love it!! There will be items to raffle and plenty of opportunites to donate. The awesome volunteers that come out and give their time on the weekend to make it work makes this event great...so thank you in advance to those that come out and help on Saturday. A big thanks and lots of hugs to those that have helped us in the past and that can't be there this year!! Thank you to all of our amazing athletes. I can't wait to see old faces and meet new ones. This year is super special as both of our daughters will be competing. I can't wait for them to watch and be amongst such beautiful and strong women!!!

Happy Saturday Low T!!! Get out and enjoy this beautiful day, cause I plan to. Tomorrow begins the countdown to Low T 2019, it’s going to be great this year. We still need judges and volunteers. If you want to help, go to Eventbrite and register as a judge, this is for the folks who have already reached out as well. I will scan posts tomorrow to make sure that I’ve respond to all questions. If you haven’t heard from me by Tuesday, send me (Kim Johnson) a private message....full time job, mother of two girls full of sass and 7th grade math...yeah, we a little cray! This was posted last year, hold true for 2019!!! “What’s this Low T comp all about? Barbells, bikinis and no weenies! Low T is a female only team CrossFit style competition that ANY female can do. The events are programmed so that if an athlete has never done CrossFit, they can sign up. This is a day where an awesome costume draws more attention than the best lift. Don’t get me wrong, you’re gonna sweat! This is a day where we will celebrate that 85lb hang clean or that first pull up. This is a day where women can make new connections with others from local boxes, maybe even team up for another comp! This day is stress free and all about fun!”

Drama Llama:

6 minute AMRAP
40 Synchro DL (see weights below)
50 Synchro Air Squat
60 Synchro Snatches (one barbell at 55lbs and one dumbbell at 25lbs)

For the DL: each team will have one 45lb bar, one 35lb bar and weights. One set of: 35, 25, 10, 5lbs Each team will load bars however they want, all weight must be used. For example, one parter can lift the 35 lb bar only and the other unlucky girl will have to lift 195lbs.

Buy in: 10 squat cleans at 215lbs

Partner A must hang from the bar for reps to count.
Partner B
AMRAP for 6 minutes:
10 DL at 125 lbs
20 DB snatches at 25 lbs

You may switch at anytime. Weights can be scaled appropriately. Jk on the squat cleans, no buy in!

FC-NC 2018 update! Happy Holidays everyone!! You made it possible for us to donate a total of $4,000+. We gave some to food truck (we urge you to do some research on the incredible work they have done during and after HFlo, and continue to do in New Bern and Craven County!), some to the (Our direct donation to the FoodBank was also a matching donation resulting in $3600 in meals - wow!!) and some directly to local families impacted by the hurricane. You guys rock, and we can’t tell you how proud we are to be a small part of what YOU all have done! Let’s keep that ENC support strong. How can we do that Kim? Great question Brandon. Giant box of plate carriers arrived - thanks ! Looking forward to putting these things to work next weekend at FCNC2018! Still spots available, and still shirts - so if you haven’t registered and want to - get after it! Sizes aren’t guaranteed at this point on the shirts - but they also make great gifts, lol. We also have some folks still looking for partners - if you need one, post here and on the event group and we’ll try and get you matched up!!!

About a month away from and as it turns out - on the birthday of the USMC!! Gonna be a great day for a run! Returning athlete codes remain in effect the last week of the event, but register by 10/28 to guarantee your shirt!! This year has gone 100% charitable contribution folks - so all proceeds to Hurricane replief here in the Carolinas. We know it’s been a tough ride this Fall, but we’d love to see y’all come out on the 10th of November! If you want to come and compete - but times are tough, message us - we’ll make sure you can get out here to do it. Stay safe out there everyone, and we’ll see you in November!
