A fisherman spotted her just east of the Faralon Islands (outside the Golden Gate) and radioed for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so badly off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her…. a very dangerous proposition. One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.
They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her. When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, nudged them, and pushed gently, thanking them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.
The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.
May you be so fortunate to be surrounded by people who will help you get untangled from the things that are binding you.
And, may you always know the joy of giving and receiving gratitude 🙏

Yonder 2020 Site Map 🗺️

Have you spotted some strange symbols and curious creatures around the festival map this year? A festival wide scavenger hunt by The Puzzle Maker will cure your curiosity and take you on an adventure to discover a secret performance somewhere over Yonder. Head to the explorers eye to begin your quest!

Each year we discover new ways to form the festival experience part of the landscape. For the first time we have hauled an entire stage to the top of the Yonder hill providing a spectacular backdrop of the Mary Valley horizon.

Yonderland has been designed and built as it's own experience within the festival with treehouses, tunes, hammocks, cocktails and dreams. Now with full permission (and encouragement) to dance!

The Amphitheatre stage has been reimagined to become part of the landscape with the bonus Soapbox stage connected to this space.

We have more surprises in store and can’t wait to share it all with you in a few days!

A Yonder Weather Report ☀️

Not only does this week's forecast include good times, great people and amazing performances but also lots of sun and a top of 30 throughout the festival. Don't be fooled though, the sun will still pack a punch so bring a nice big hat and stay hydrated. Dipping down to around 18 each night the cool down after a big day will be in full swing, be sure to keep warm!

A reminder that glass is strictly prohibited at Yonder due to the injury risk broken glass poses to the animals on the farm. There is a QFES total fire ban with any open flame strictly prohibited (BBQs or camping stoves etc). Due to safety and event insurance passouts are not permitted during the festival and patrons will have their wristbands cut off by security if they leave the site. We have everything you need on site in case you forget to bring anything including ice, to***co, water and food.

Not long now, see you on site!

Yonder 2020 Program Announcement!

The wait is over and the time has come for us to announce the line-up for Yonder 2020! Say goodbye to live-streamed gigs and hello to live music. We are so excited to jump back to the other side of the screen and celebrate with you all in person (socially distanced of course!)

Yonder strives to provide a smorgasbord of the most exciting emerging music from across Queensland and Australia. Putting a festival together in 2020 has been a particularly unique experience, encouraging us to limit our search to within Queensland and to seek out the artists who had been extending their practice behind closed doors throughout lockdown.

We are really pleased to announce that we feel we’ve fulfilled this, as Yonder 2020’s lineup includes an expansive range of styles, genres and performances, with each artist bringing a definitive approach to their craft. From the long form ambient sets in store from acts like AVAXA and Unregistered Master Builder, to the up-beat virtuosos of HRBRT, Laik and the newly formed Krunj, Yonder will have something to offer for however you’re feeling.

Those on the hunt for in-your-face guitars will fall into the aural atmospheres of JUNE and Old Home, while those looking for straight up feel good vibes will make new friends with Donny Love, Sunflower and Greatest Hits.

Yonder 2020 will also see the debut of the Hill Stage, which overlooks the rolling hills of the Mary Valley and will deliver magical sets from angelic acts like Clea, MoZayic, Desmond Cheese and The Oogars, as well as unmissable sets from sonic scientists Collar and Tom Thum.

Our fresh creek-side addition, Yonderland, will be home to the bar, DJ stage, workshops, food trucks and chill spaces, all of which will be bathed in the sweet tunes of DJ maestros from A Love Supreme, Shandy, Black Bear Lodge and Temple of Odd, as well as the likes of Squidgenini, Glasshead and Lord Fascinator.

Aside from the refreshing program of music, Yonder will be bringing an array of performances and live experiences to the festival. Brisbane slam poetry crew, Ruckus Slam, and comedy hour, Get Up (Stand Up), will be back to touch your hearts and funny bones, while the collective Voices of Colour, will share their powerful words and art.

Part of the Yonder charm is the curious characters and wild adventures you can experience along the way. The festival site will be brought to life with roving theatre and performances from Theatre of Thunder, Church of Latter-Day Hams, Bring A Plate, Zen Zen Zo and many more eclectic delights. And maybe, if you’re willing to follow your adventurous side with The Puzzlemaker’s festival wide scavenger hunt, you might just find A Secret Spot Over Yonder...

This year, Yonder festival will be focusing on nurturing human connection outside of physical touch. Across the festival weekend, you can nurture your mind and creativity with workshops by ARTY PARTY, Craftivism Creations, and Ruckus Slam. For those of you who like to get your body moving, there will also be Handstand Play and Yoga, slackline workshops by Highline Australia and dance workshops by Bring A Plate.

Yonder will again be working with the Brisbane Street Art Festival to make the festival a playground for unusual and immersive works of visual art and interactive installations. Artists such as Gus Eagleton, Jordache, Imogen Peach, Emily Devers and many more will be painting live in the lush surrounds of the Sunshine Coast hinterland site.

Each year the festival engages local photographers to capture the ephemeral Yonder experience from all angles, and we are constantly blown away by the stunning work that our photography teams produce. This year, we are highlighting the artistry of each of our photographers with a feature on the Yonder website. Head over and have a look through some of the incredible talent, and find who you want taking your photo at Yonder 2020!

Now more than ever, Yonder is a celebration of human connection and experience through the arts. It is truly an honour to have the opportunity to feature this many seminal Brisbane and Queensland artists, bands and collectives over one weekend, and we can’t wait to share it all with you.

Program Announcement coming tomorrow! Tickets are now 80% sold!

Although 2020 has been an out of the ordinary year for the programming team with restrictions on interstate and internationation travel, Yonder is excited to present a focus on and reflection of the incredible artists across South East Queensland who have continued to expand their practice throughout COVID-19.

We are incredibly excited to share the 2020 program, covering a wide variety of music, visual art, performance, workshops and activations. The festival has always recognized the world class talent of local artists, but having an opportunity to solely focus on this has been a pleasure and we can’t wait for them to blow you all away.

With 80% of tickets already sold before the lineup announcement this year, we are so honoured to have received such massive support for the festival in such a challenging time for the arts industry. We would like to thank everyone that has contributed to getting the 2020 festival across the line! Without each and every one of you, it would not have been possible.

Full program announcement will be available tomorrow.

See you all on site!
