Lovely evening at Fruitland Chamber Member Appreciation Event which included picking our own bouquets. I think this would be a great option for weddings, bridal showers, quinceañeras or any event where people are gathered and you want to have fun making your event beautiful.

Yet another gorgeous Episcopal Church in Idaho much like our St James but even older. Look at that Celtic cross on top of the Bell Tower! It's so interesting how Celtic spirituality ended up in Idaho in the 1800s and left its imprint on many churches, especially since the Episcopal church came from the church of England... Not Ireland.

Congratulations to our bride and groom today! We love the muted pink table runners and creative table layout.

Thank you for all those who attended! It has been quite the journey of a thousand steps renovating St. James through Covid times and watching the neighborhood around us transform with us!

We recently joined the Payette Chamber and I have been pleasantly surprised at how great they are to speak to and work with. They genuinely care about local businesses and go out of their way to help businesses succeed. Within days of joining the Chamber, Marcy took a tour of our venue and set up a ribbon cutting for me and luncheon at our historic venue - www.stjamesidaho.org . She also introduced me to other members and really went out of her way to find ways to help me. I feel like the Chamber will continue to have a big impact on Payette and surrounding communities and the success of local businesses.

If you are interested in holding some at our event center, which is an historic building, let me know. Two of the owners are painters and we would welcome people enjoying art there ( as long as we dont have to do cleanup).

Hello, my friends:

I took a hiatus from doing art parties.

I was in a tough relationship that affected my business.

During those fun art parties, my heart and gut were twisted up, wondering who was being entertained that evening behind my back.

Trying to be an energetic art party hostess with those thoughts in my head made me physically ill; it wasn’t genuine.

It wasn’t the art parties I needed to move away from, but the relationship, which I have done.

Everything shines brighter now, and after a 90-day-break, I think I’d like to open things up to private parties, for now.

Teaching is something I’ve loved, art is my soul’s language, and I’ve found myself recently talking about my methods for teaching and getting that excitement in my voice.

If anyone is interested in hosting an art party, let’s talk. You can message me here or text at 208-615-6472.

I think art isn’t done with me yet.

This year in campfirmation, we have been wondering together - where is Jesus? At last weekend's overnight retreat we considered how we meet Jesus in the quiet, in silence, and especially in prayer. We practiced praying the hours, closed our evening with Taize worship, visited a cemetery, made prayer beads (and prayed with them), played games, and so much more. We are thankful to St James Payette for their beautiful space for a retreat - the sanctuary, kitchen, fellowship area, and sleeping dorms. What a wonderful 18 hours away to meet Jesus where we are.

Precious Days
Carolyn Wesner

“Oh it’s a long, long while from May to December; but the days grow short when we reach September” as the old song goes. These are lyrics about the seasons of our lives, and about how short the days, months and years become as we get older – they are precious days! The Old Testament scriptures remind us also to “remember our creator in the days of our youth”, just going to show that all the days of our lives are meant to be lived fully and with joy.
What does “precious” mean anyway? The dictionary says it’s a descriptive word, an adjective, about an object, substance, or resource of great value; not to be wasted or treated carelessly. What is of great value to you? Money, children, house, car? You wouldn’t want to treat any of these carelessly or wastefully! How about time, health, or friendship? Some people view their friendship with God as very precious – something to be made the most of, treated with great value and respect on every precious day, not just once a week or on special holidays, or never.
In the New Testament part of the Bible, Jesus told his audience that God loves the world – a LOT! Even though the scriptures are very old writings, with customs and language very different from our own, the message of Jesus still carries through today: we are precious in God’s sight, all the time, every day. Seems like it would be a waste of that wonderful resource if it was to be ignored or left unrecognized. Other things can let us down: wealth, position, even friends or family, but God always loves.
The end of the “September Song” says: “September, November – these few precious days I’ll spend with you!” Spend some of every precious day with Jesus, no regrets.
All are welcome at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church’s Sunday service at 10 a.m. and please stay for coffee hour afterwards.
