Clockwork is a project imagined and fronted by Quarantine Bob and will be your OPENING ACT Gold Mountain Music Fest VI. He has enlisted the aid of Pocket Cookies band leader and bassist Eric Stark and longtime collaborator Brock “Rocker” Talbot on drums to create a formidable power trio that we are excited to see kick the show off right. Get it on your calendar now. Gold Mountain Music’s next OPEN MIC NIGHT at The Coal Mine is Wednesday, 3/19. This is a traditional Open Mic (not an Open Stage) and we cater to solo and duo acts. We accommodate both acoustic and electric guitars but not full bands. We are proud that we get everybody who shows up on stage each month and keeping the acts to solo/duos allows us to do so. We are sponsored each month by Founders Brewing Co. who offers $4 cans of ALL DAY IPA every show. T shirt and other swag giveaways all evening. See you there!

Tonight we got the band back together. The early days of Gold Mountain Music involved this outfit: Bypass, Stents, & Burns. We performed at the local coffee shop every Sunday. It’s been a few years but tonight we played those songs together again and it felt good. Mostly we listened to our founder, the bohemian rapscallion himself, Dennis Martinez, regale us with tales of commune living in Hawaii in the early 70s, shooting pool with Ringo Starr, doing blow with Stevie Nicks, and playing music every day in between. Denny is a local treasure. I hope he has it in him to get on stage with us one last time.

Next Friday, 2/28/25, at Coach's Bottleshop & Grille there will be a fundraiser for Keystone Oaks High School Musical. Gift basket raffles, 50/50, and LIVE MUSIC performed by Keystone Oaks’ own Quarantine Bob! A portion of all sales will go to support the KO musical. Get out and support the kids!

The mission of Gold Mountain Music has always been to celebrate and promote local, live music. To that end, Gold Mountain Music Fest VI on May 10 will include two sets of music by, what we call Gold Mountain Music AllStar Band - a rotating collection of local singers/musicians. This 2nd set will headline the festival. It is comprised of pro musicians with many years experience playing in clubs not only all around Pittsburgh but also around the country. One of the great things about hosting an Open Mic is that you get to see someone make their debut in front of a crowd. It’s so much cooler to see a son get to share that with his father. It was a killer night at The Coal Mine! Our monthly OPEN MIC was our biggest yet. So many new performers showed up and we did our best to get everybody on stage even if it was only for one song.
