and I had a great weekend. A good balance of fun and productivity. We kicked off the weekend with some delicious BBQ from SmokinT's BBQ & Bar. What luck to meet Marni Carlson last week and learn about this great restaurant. Highly recommend! Thanks to my BFF Sharon Jackson for trying it out with me.

We stayed cool with a delicious vanilla shake (add Oreo please). We spent part of Sunday planning out our week for success - prioritizing tasks and making sure we have time for all the things.

We've got a busy week with 2 interviews, 3 1:1 calls with potential clients (well, one just became a client so two calls left), Cosmic Bowling with my niece and Polka Dot Powerhouse - Las Vegas, NV Chapter sisters, client work, my Mastermind group...and my book club on Saturday. Good thing Ellie was up and ready to go before me this morning.

I am confident that we will stay on top of all of our to-dos and places to be because we created a plan for the week. And if we get behind, then Ellie will just have to put on her roller skates. 😀

I had the pleasure of sitting across from the amazing, sunny Summer Smollack at a networking event in March. She is one of the most positive, uplifting people on the planet. That one meeting led to a Facebook connection, which led me to help at the TCMI Church Food Bank last Saturday. What an impressive operation they have - serving over 120,000 families a year.

Getting up at 4:45a on a Saturday morning was challenging but it was so worth it! I loved being a small part of an event with such a massive impact. I have no idea how many boxes we distributed on Saturday but I know that for 2 hours I didn't stop moving as cars came through. It was a great experience! I can't wait to do this again.

Want to give back or do more in your community? Opportunities are available. Check in with your network. Call local churches or community centers. If there is a specific cause you are passionate about, reach out and see how you can help. It is amazing what can happen when we give back! Just one connection, one phone call, one Saturday morning...can make a huge impact!

🎲 Family Game Night FTW! 🎉 Who's in for a night of epic showdowns and unstoppable laughter? 🙌 Once a month (or whenever we're feeling the itch for fun), my family gathers for game night extravaganza. 🍕 We order some pizza, dive into fun games, and enjoy each other's company.

We're all about variety, from the hilariously morbid Stupid Deaths to the intense espionage of CodeNames, or just enjoying the classic Phase 10! 🃏 And we’re sure to enjoy our next game night, as we're diving headfirst into the chaos of Live Laugh Lose. Cue the laughing until we cry! 😂

And there is going to be more fun to come soon. My nephew just leveled up his apartment with a new-to-him game table. 🎉 Ready the poker faces and high-stakes action, where Hershey Kisses, Starburst, and Jolly Ranchers are the currency of champions! 😜

Do you do fire drills in your home with your children? Do you do fire drills at work? Do you teach your children how and when to call 9-1-1? Do you know where the first aid kits are in your home, your office, your church? Do you know where to go and what to do during a tornado or hurricane? Have you done everything you can to prepare your family for what to do in case of an emergency?

I bet you answered yes to 75% of those questions. That’s great! But do you have an emergency plan for your event? If you answered yes…that is awesome! You're ahead of the curve. If you answered no…why not?

When I ask my clients this question, I hear a variety of reasons why they skip this step. First…they don’t think they really need an Emergency Plan for their event. They think IF – and that’s a really BIG IF Heather - but IF an emergency happened, we’d know what to do. Or…they don’t think they have time to put this together on top of everything else. Or…they don’t know where to start and what to include.

We all think we would react and respond appropriately during an emergency. But in the moment – we may have that immediate deer-in-the-headlights response and hesitate. And in an emergency, every second can count.
