I thought I'd start this journey with a little story. It's Christmas time 2021 and I was playing around on Amazon. I don't know why but for some reason a Santa Claus suit showed up in the things I might be interested in.
While I had never really thought about being a helper to the big man in red but it sounded like it might be fun. So, needless to say I bought the suit thinking, what do in have to loose.
Well it was about a week after I received my suit that I was asked to make an appearance at a toy drive.
While I was chatting with one of the attendees, I was made aware that I was being watched. I looked over to see a child, maybe 4 or 5 years old, looking at me while tucked partially behind her mother. I looked over and smiled and waved. It was the look of happiness and joy on her face that convinced me that this was something I had to do for others if I could.
I have spent the last year preparing for this season with a sense of anticipation equal to the wonder I found in that first child's eyes.
