Here we are, finally in December with all these pretty wreaths. I find the history of Christmas trees and wreaths and the origins of bringing in of an evergreen bough over the winter so very interesting.

In the before ‘fore times, Pagans used to bring in an evergreen bough to symbolise fortitude through winter - a way that we could, as people - somehow relate to these very beautiful trees, with their incredible strength, survive, even thrive through a long cold winter. They do exude a wonderfully strong life magic of powerful endurance and vitality.

It is only in deepest autumn and winter that these trees really start to shine. When we are not so sidetracked by the beauty of flowers - these magnificent trees are silently waiting to be appreciated. Standing proud through winter storms and the weight of snow and ice.

They are also so very important as a source of absorbing carbon dioxide and breathing out oxygen when most other plant life has sunk down to slumber in the earth over the cold months.

And that’s why I make my wreaths with mostly such beautiful evergreen and different foliage - spruces, pines and fir, eucalyptus and cedar. To celebrate these phenomenal beings. I guess I want to highlight the evergreens and not just the ‘extras’. We love living in a place that allows us to grow these stunning evergreen trees. And my lovely man and I have planted lots of them here.

Don’t shoot me down… I do love me some glitzy/velvet ribbon too 😜 Ain’t nothing wrong in my book with a little festive fizz and sparkle!

More wreath designs are on their way… watch this space or message me to order.

Happy December!

Happy to report I haven’t lost my freakin’ mind, ya’ll…😉 I know it’s ONLY November…

This big fluffy beauty (50cm) is now adorning the lovely shopfront of in Cromarty, as there is a little buzz about the place - a few shops are staying open late this evening for a little pre pre Christmas shopping!

You can pre-order yourself a FINE festive wreath from the shop (a few options are available, please see instore for details) should you be local or you can contact me directly if you fancy something a little different (much bigger and more fancy or smaller and just as pretty)
