My take on the Victorian Kissing Ball.
Yep, those saucy Victorians are to blame! The balls were usually evergreen - a potato or apple as the centre - with greenery and herbs stuffed into it with a ribbon decoration and hung in a place where there was room to smooch underneath!
Nowadays, there are often used to symbolise romantic love - think weddings/ vow renewals etc.
For me, I just love the idea of a Kissing Ball or Smooch Ball (as I like to call it 🤣) for the festive season.
I guess this one is a little unusual as it is purely my home grown dried dahlias and moss. That’s it.
And I reckon she’s a peach of a Smooch Ball!! I guarantee plenty of kisses will be shared under this piece of dried loveliness - I mean - how could you not? ♥️
