Hi!! My name is Ly, owner of NOMIS Catering. I figured I'd finally introduce myself and tell my story of how NOMIS came about, in case you've been wondering 😊

Let's start with the name. It's my oldest son's name backwards, Simon. I've always loved to cook, but Simon pushed me to make dishes I was unfamiliar with. He would challenge me to make the things he would try at restaurants. "Mom, I really liked the chicken enchilada at so and so, can you try to make your own version?" Oh. My. Dear, did I take seriously. I was always so excited to make whatever he wanted. And when the day came that I made it, I'd watch him take his first bite... "well?" I'd ask. A smile would appear and, "oh my goodness, yes, this is so good, mom. Please make this again." My heart was full and I would wait for him to tell me what he wanted next. I loved and served him like a king. He was my first born and adored him. His constant push to make something new inspired me to become a better cook. When I lost Simon I lost sight of the beauty in cooking. The food portions were off, and a lot of food got wasted. I made simple, easy dishes. I had dinner on repeat. The only time I'd go all out was if I was celebrating him, on his birthday or on the anniversary date of us saying goodbye to him. I would make all of his favorite dishes and I'd make a ton, enough to feed a big party of people. One day it just clicked. Start cooking again for Simon. Start doing something you love to honor him. So, after sharing my idea and getting great feedback and support from the people I love, I did it! I pour my heart and soul into everything I make. It can be exhausting, but 100% worth it when I hear the feedback I get. I picture Simon watching me and smiling every time I make an order.

There it is. NOMIS Catering wasn't created from someone who just loves cooking. It was inspired by the love I have for my son. It is a token, a gift to everyone I cater for. You get a little bit of what Simon felt every time you eat something that I've made. That makes me happy ❤️
