That’s a wrap ♡ Our Fall wedding season has ended and I’m filled with gratitude as I look back on the last year; Between my amazing team of girls who ensured every single event was flawless (and so much fun) to all of the amazing couples and their beautiful beginnings—2019 was extraordinary!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Katie and Rob’s wedding overlooked this gorgeous waterfront view as they said “I do” this past Saturday; It was the perfect place to celebrate with their closest family and friends and I’d be lying if I said we didn’t run outside numerous times to grab pics of the never ending sunset the sky provided... but most importantly, to cheer on as she got pics of the bride and groom on a stranger’s boat, lol
Thanks to the amazing team of vendors for making sure their day was nothing short of perfection — We couldn’t do this job without ya!

It’s finally Friday and we’re R E A D Y for the weekend and for this rain to goooooo. But let’s brighten it up a bit for round two of and talk a little bit about this beauty! Alexa is my assistant and runs all of our day-of coordinating — I could not do the long days (and nights!) w/out her! She’s been my lifesaver this last year!💘
Here are a few fun facts about her:

• Her hometown is so small it didn't even have a McDonald's OR a stop light
• She’ll be graduating from ODU in May with a Bachelor's in Business (beauty and brains, y’all)
• Her favorite colors are black & white, as is a majority of her wardrobe (lol same, girl.
s a m e)
• She loves Disney & is going to Disney world for the 4th time this year (actually jealous)

Went into my LASIK procedure yesterday with -4.75 prescription in both eyes and today I’ve been cleared with 20/20 vision — Modern technology never ceases to amaze me.
Anyone else ever had LASIK?! If you’re considering, 10/10 would recommend🙌🏼

Hi! It’s me, Taylor, Owner and Wedding Planner over here at House of Oak! If you’ve sent us an email or inquired about services, I’m usually the one answering your requests! I haven’t done a in a while so I figured today would be the perfect day to share a couple of fun things about me and the company!

• A good, clean aesthetic is L I F E. For me, Clutter equals chaos and neutrals are among my favorite colors🤣
• I get told A L L the time that I look like . It n e v e r fails. (Just ask 😂) if someone says “Has anyone ever told you tha—-“ I usually finish the sentence for them
• I would move to South Carolina/Georgia in a heartbeat for the Spanish moss growing on the trees. It’s my F A V O R I T E and I dream of having a plantation-style home with a driveway lined in big ole’ oak trees one day. (Hence our business name — that’s up next!)
• So “How did you come up with the name House of Oak?!” has been a pretty popular question! Oak trees are a symbol for power and strength. That’s exactly how I view marriage; powerful when you have deep roots. And for a house, if it’s built correctly with a strong foundation, it can withstand anything that comes its way. House of Oak is how I pray for all the couples that I get the pleasure of working with and that their marriage will forever stand as strong as an oak tree💛

Next week, I’ll introduce my assistant, Alexa! She’s the backbone of our Day-of coordinating — can’t wait for y’all to meet her✨
