I have been in the flower business for nearly 20 years. I started my career as an apprentice at an upscale flower shop in Mountain Brook, Alabama then went on to work in Washington D.C., New York City and New Orleans. In Washington D.C. my focus was on Large Scale Hotel Lobby Centerpiece Installations. I designed weekly arrangements for The W Hotel, The Four Seasons, The Hay-Adams, The Sofitel, Th
e J.W. Marriott, The Willard, and The Mayflower Hotel. A few years later, after freelancing with David Tutera, I moved to New York City to work at the famed Waldorf Astoria Hotel. My first assignment was to decorate center stage at Yankee Stadium for Pope Benedict's first Papal Address to New York. The floral installation took 32 straight hours to complete. As a reward for our continuous dedication to finish our task on schedule, Myself and 8 other Designers were granted a private audience with Pope Benedict, where we received a blessing. During my tenure at The Waldorf, I designed many million dollar weddings and met countless celebrities and politico. After I left New York, I moved back to Washington D.C. for another 4 years. I had the privilege to help design one of President Obama's Inaugural Ball's at the Mayflower Hotel. Afterwards, my main focus was on High-Profile Weddings and Events. Some of them were at The White House, The Supreme Court, The Naval Observatory, The Rotunda of The Capitol, The Smithsonian, The Corcoran Gallery, D.A.R. Constitution Hall, and The National Cathedral. Others, sadly, were for the funerals of Heads of State such as Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy, W.V. Senator Robert Byrd, and Civil Rights Pioneer Dr. Dorothy Height. In 2013 I moved back to Birmingham to be closer to my mother who was ill. After having worked in the industry in Birmingham, I decided it was time to open my own shop and bring affordable, yet stylish arrangements to my hometown.
