Almost caught up with this week's prompt list from the amazing .lettering (go check out her feed-her work is incredible!)

This is yesterday's prompt jellyfish.
Such incredible creatures. The grace and beauty that they possess is such a crazy contrast to the sometimes fatal venom that some species possess. Even the non-fatal species pack a painful sting. And it's done without a centralized brain or typical nervous system. Remarkable.

This work is entirely in various types of ink...

Seahorse, the day 3 prompt of .lettering Coral Reef list

Such beautiful, amazing creatures💙

I am loving this first week of 🐬🐟🐠🐡🐙🦈🦀🪸🪼

The seaweed wash is gansai tambi h2o colors with a bit of Gelly Roll pen highlights
The seahorse is mostly Gelly Roll pens with a touch of three colors that I didn't have in gel pen (mixed with some white h2o color ink ) and a smidgen of Micron 003 sepia to sharpen the details a bit.

And this little piggy wore a wig!

My final prompt for
Whacky Week😁

This one is for Sprout.
The pig is modeled after a toy pig that is one of her favorite toys. Earlier today, she called and while we were chatting, she said, "Mom can you paint something for me?" Of course I said yes so I thought she would get a kick out of her beloved piggy in a wig.
Definitely fits the Whacky Your Way vibe 😉🤣

Thanks for such a fun week to end ! All of the fun artwork has definitely brought sunshine to this tiny hospital room!

She's doing much better, even though we spent her birthday in the hospital. We always manage to find some fun, even in crummy situations. So happy birthday to my BFF, my Ride or Die and partner in crime, illustration and botany. Love you!

For today's I had to improvise a bit...
Last night, my Ride or Die and actual sister had developed a very high fever and was not feeling well at all so I took her to the ER. She has an infection that is having to be monitored very closely so she was admitted to the hospital. The good news is that her vitals have been improving and the docs are keeping the fever in check. She is resting comfortably and on the second round of IV antibiotics and in good spirits.
So I figured I'd do a bit of drawing while she was sleeping earlier only I didn't have anything to draw with except my iPad. So this funny, moustached dude was made with digital ink and pens in :) 😀 Yeah, technically not quite the pen and ink used for these challenges but he gave us both a smile so I thought I'd share him.

I checked in at the homestead a little while ago, made the fam dinner and picked up some actual pens and paper since Jenn is really wanting to do some drawing to pass the time and to help keep a positive vibe going. I joked with her "You know, if you wanted some sister bonding time, you could've just told me..." So here we are, having a bit of quality hang out time in a very tiny hospital room. Now with a boatload of pens. The nursing staff must think we're nuts...

Seriously though, if you've got a minute to say a little prayer or send some positive, healing energy out into the universe for her, our family would appreciate it a lot.

A little over two years ago, Sprout followed me into the bathroom holding a large rubber tarantula that we’d had out for Halloween and asked if we could keep it out instead of putting it away with the rest of the Halloween decorations. Usually, I would have been “uh, privacy, please!” but instead, this time, I had an idea. “Hmm..Now that would be a fun story…A spider that skips hibernation to find out about Christmas.” And here we are, after over two years of rewrites, illustrations, edits, edits and more edits, I am SO very proud to share the final product: The Christmas Spider A Millie and Mo Adventure! To say that this has been a labor of love could never quite describe the journey that @awesomeaj and I shared in the creation of this fully illustrated (by hand, not robot!) picture book sized (it’s 8.5x11) novel that tells the story of Mo, a sassy jumping spider and her BFF, Millie, a mouse with a heart of gold and the adventure they share one Holiday season. Flying into the final week of #penandinkchallengenov24 with a week of emotions 🥰 Happiness is up first and pretty spot on for me today!
