Welcome to the “Los Alebrijes” Summer Kids Program!☀️

“Los Alebrijes” refers to the vividly colored Mexican folk art sculptures of fantastical creatures, often made from papier-mâché or wood and adorned with intricate patterns. This tradition, brought to life by folk artist Pedro Linares, originated from a dream he had during a time of illness.❤️

We’ve named our summer camp after these whimsical creatures because they embody creativity, imagination, and cultural richness.✨ By celebrating the vibrant spirit of Latinx culture and the artistry of alebrijes, we offer children a unique journey of exploration and self-expression.😍

Our program symbolizes a magical journey where children can unleash their creativity, discover new perspectives, and embrace their uniqueness. Just like alebrijes, which are made of different animal parts, our campers will explore the various facets of their heritage and individuality.🤩 Through art, storytelling, and play, children will have the freedom to let their imaginations run wild and express themselves in a fun, educational, and supportive environment.

When I was a little girl, I yearned to join a summer camp, eager to make new friends and go on new adventures. Unfortunately, due to limited resources, my parents couldn’t always enroll me or my siblings. That unfulfilled childhood dream inspired the creation of the Los Alebrijes program.🙏🏼🥹 It’s a program deeply rooted in my own experiences and a desire to provide our Latinx community with the enriching opportunities every child deserves!❤️

Today, Los Alebrijes offers a vibrant mix of cultural exploration, creative activities, and a supportive environment for growth.🤩 We’re dedicated to making this more than just a summer day camp; it’s a place where young minds come to learn, explore, and thrive.🙌🏼

Tickets are now LIVE for our Los Alebrijes summer program!!🤩🌱

Children will spend the week exploring Latinx culture through crafting, experimenting with science and nature, playing games, making new friends, and creating lasting memories. Each day offers a different theme that is tied in with the week’s activities.👏🏼 At the end of the week, a Family Fiesta will give them a chance to show off all they learned that week. Only 30 spots available, register before we fill up!🙌🏼

🌱For 7-12 year olds
🌱Dates: July 7th through July 12th
🌱Hours: 10am-12:00pm Sunday through Friday
🌱with Family Fiesta 12:00-1:30pm Friday
🌱Small bites and refreshments will be provided daily

If you’ve visited our venue, you’ve likely noticed the striking black doors—those remain untouched, simply repainted for a fresh look. 🥰 These doors are what make the outdoor-indoor look come together beautifully. The sink from the original space also remains, serving as a nostalgic reminder of the past.✨ Additionally, we repurposed a ladder you may have spotted in the restroom. Climbing that ladder as a child holds cherished memories, making it a must-have piece for me. Every aspect of this space was created and thought out with intention and love, preserving its history while embracing its new purpose.🙌🏼💚
