Hometown Cake HOMETOWN CAKE is a custom cake shop bringing an artistic vision and delicious twist to the Mid-Ohio Valley. Classically trained in Pastry Arts.

HOMETOWN CAKE is owned and operated by Bobby Pierce. Bobby was born and raised in Parkersburg, graduating from PHS in 1999, and then learned, lived, and worked in many places before returning to his hometown to open Hometown Cake. After high school Bobby went on to graduate from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art in 2004. He followed up by attending the Orlando Culinary Academy

and received his Associate's Degree in Pastry and Baking, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Bobby's first professional baking and pastry job was at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. During his time at Walt Disney World, Bobby worked in the French Pavilion at EPCOT. Bobby Then spent the next seven years working as a pastry cook with The Ritz Carlton Hotel company. He began at the Ritz Carlton Naples Beach resort and the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando - both in Florida - before moving to North Carolina as part of the Opening Team of the Ritz Carlton Charlotte. Bobby then left Charlotte for the "Big Easy" as Pastry Chef de Partie at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans in Louisiana. After a decade of professional experience in pastry kitchens Bobby returned to Parkersburg in 2011 to pursue his dream of opening Hometown Cake.
