Meet Billy Hills, a 22-year-old aspiring DJ from Malta with an undeniable passion for music and the creative arts. Although he’s been DJing seriously for only seven months, he’s already set his sights on the next big step: crafting his own unique sound and diving deeper into music production.

Billy draws heavy inspiration from MCR-T, an artist known for flawlessly blending ghetto tech and groovy trance, while showcasing a harder edge and captivating vocals. This combination has greatly influenced Billy’s style and ambitions as a DJ. He’s particularly drawn to the originality MCR-T brings to his craft—a quality Billy aims to emulate as he carves out his place in the music world.

For Billy, standing out as a DJ means avoiding trends and instead focusing on delivering something fresh and innovative. He spends countless hours digging through SoundCloud to find tracks that align with his vision and draws inspiration from the live sets of his favorite artists. By blending these influences, Billy is shaping a sound that reflects his unique perspective while pushing boundaries.

Meet TNTna, has been self-taught in DJing for the past year. With a passion for experimentation across diverse musical styles, TNTna gravitates primarily towards Acid Techno and Hard Techno. The long-term vision extends beyond mastering the art of DJing, with plans to delve into music production. For TNTna, creating original tracks represents an unparalleled expression of individuality and artistry.

Inspired by a wide array of artists, the journey into Techno began with Charlotte De Witte, whose work ignited a deep connection to the genre. Other influential figures include Carv, I Hate Models, Nico Moreno, Doruksen, Sara Landry, KI/KI, and the unique productions of Vladimir Dubyshkin. TNTna believes that true success as a DJ comes from authenticity, patience, and creativity. Developing a distinctive style, understanding the audience, showing respect, and—most importantly—feeling the music deeply are key principles.

Staying current with music trends is integral to TNTna’s approach. This involves exploring platforms like Spotify and Beatport, engaging with artists on social media, and attending live events. Local inspirations include talents such as Reactant, Yazmin, Mari Mars, Rensei, Junior B, and MILLØ, among others.

Welcome to the first episode of 2025! We’re excited to introduce Kristeph, a 26-year-old DJ and music producer who has been honing his craft for over a decade. With 10 years of DJing experience and five years of music production under his belt, Kristeph has worked tirelessly to create and refine his own unique sound.

His journey into electronic music began with inspiration from the legendary John Digweed. Over time, his musical focus has evolved, gravitating towards darker and raw techno—a genre that perfectly captures his current passion and creative direction.

For Kristeph, DJing is more than just blending tracks; it’s about storytelling. Each set is a narrative designed to engage and resonate with the audience. His goal is to take listeners on a journey, creating a connection that keeps them captivated every step of the way.

While he stays aware of trends, Kristeph believes that true artistry comes from authenticity and individuality. Trends may come and go, but forging a distinct identity is what leaves a lasting impression. His focus is on exploring music that aligns with his vision and refining his sound rather than chasing fleeting fads.

One artist who has consistently inspired him is Manthrax whom he describes as not only an incredibly talented DJ but also one of the most reliable and consistent performers on the island. Manthrax’s dedication and ability to deliver every time is something Kristeph truly admires.
