I remember the wheat fields of my youth. Dad would get real #$%^ when we would run through the fields trampling down his wheat crop. (but it was great fun for us young'ins)

Almost every time I pass through Tygh Valley I stop, with camera in hand at the White river falls state park. This is the location of the first power station in the area. If you go please note the trail down is not necessarily easy but there are great views from the top also.

As a portrait photographer I really enjoy making and recording the happy events in people's lives through portraiture. Hanging adequate size canvases in homes across the west. But I live here and can help but admire where we live and celebrate that admiration in photography.
One evening I told the moon to hold up right where it was, while I got my camera out. (And I do have a bridge for sale...)

Early the other morning, I heard my wife yelling for me to get out of bed. The sun rise was upon us. I grabbed my camera and tripod and stumbled out into the 18 degree pre-sunrise morning. I set my camera up, positioned my tripod and went back into the house, leaving my tripod exactly where I wanted to photograph as soon as the sunrise reached is maximum glory. I could hardly wait for the beauty that was about to happen. And the final images didn't disappoint at all.
This is truly one of my favorite things about living here. The high desert sunrise at that perfect moment. What are some of your favorite things about living here in this community?
