ABOUT THE EVENT: Soundcheck is a pilot project aimed at providing professional development opportunities for emerging and professional musicians, bands and performers across all genres. It is a chance for these talented people to network and jam in a professional environment. t on June 15, at Nelson Reserve in Gympie, 11am-3pm. What makes it unique is entertainers get a chance to perform with professional backing musicians with a concert-sized system on a big stage. Music industry and professional development advice is on offer as a part of the project focus to assist in raising the profile of the regions musical culture. BACKGROUND: No other jam session in the region, possibly Queensland and even Australia, offers this experience. Please let us know of other jam sessions happening around the place so we can promote them on the page. The project aims to cater for emerging and professional musicians regardless of instrument or genre and an international backline of session musicians are available onsite to provide support. Soundcheck iis funded for 10 months through the Regional Arts Development Fund and is driven by Gympie Regional Council and members of the community.
