Here at The GuitarBar we operate what we call “It’s Your Door” where artists and promoters effectively book us, here’s how it works…
We promote the gigs through our contacts, listings, press, on our website and on social media but normally the artist’s own websites sell out the tickets well in advance. We also offer accommodation, food and drinks (for non-local acts) on the eve or the night of th
e gig and a local artist as support if it seems that it will help. The artists then get 100% of the door money and, above a certain amount of takings, there’s often a percentage contribution from the "bar till". We have always vehemently supported local artists, singer songwriters from around the world, speciality guitarists and some very well known “bigger names” (who tend to slot us in for a gig when they have a gap in their bookings which fits geographically and, with a door price of anything up to £20 plus merchandise, regularly take in excess of £1k). The GuitarBar opened seven years ago and has since achieved a great reputation for live music and real ale too, (we’re always in the Good Beer Guide). Our room holds 50-60 in a “loungey” environment and this is, without doubt, the most intimate gig in Nottingham (we have good sound too!). It is unquestionably a great way of keeping in contact with fans in a very personal way, an ideal "introduction gig" or warm-up gig prior to a tour. Contact us at: [email protected] and please include your artist/band name and the date you’re thinking of in the subject bar of your email, (it helps me “search”). Thank you, and we look forward to welcoming you to the GuitarBar, Rob
