Dear all,
As you are aware, Tongaat faced probably the worst natural disaster in SA history when a tornado hit the area a week ago. The aftermath resembled scenes from dooms day movies...but this is reality. Homes with generations of memories completely destroyed, residents left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Donations of cash and kind have poured in to assist them, but a lot more is needed to help those who have no home insurance, as well as displaced pets.
As such, I have decided to donate my time as a musician to contribute in whatever way we can to help the victims. We are embarking on 2 fundraising shows this coming weekend in which 2 groups will perform free of charge, and all proceeds will go directly to the disaster victims. Tickers are just R50 available at the door or via the contact numbers provided below. You can also bring along any items you wish to donate as well, and we will gladly get it to the victims.
So come and enjoy an evening of Bollywood music, oldies, bhajans, qawali, gazals and...a special section in which you can request a song as well. The groups performing will be Keeran Eshwarlall and Ashari, with fabulous sound provided by Rajen Ramnath.
The shows will be held as follows:
Friday 14 June 2024 at 7pm at the Sivan Sabhay Hall, Myrtle Place, Brindhaven, Verulam.
