Our In-house World Champion Florist
Hans Pretorius world champion florist started his floral career 35 years ago. Rising quickly on the design end, allowed him to be announced as the Interflora South Africa champion as well as the teleflorist South African champion for several years. He completed Floral courses in both Germany and Holland and in 1997 he came third in the Teleflorist World Champion
ship hosted in Japan. In 2000 Hans was the first and only South African to ever win the championship title in the teleflorist world championship. After this huge successful start to his floral career, Hans joined Flamingo’s SA as a product developer and supplied large amounts of flowers and bouquets for the Woolworths chain. He decided to shift his focus to Onder Engele to not only surprise our guests with interesting and beautiful flowers for their weddings and functions but also teach a new School of Floral Design. Teaching you basic starting points of floral arrangement, the content of the first course is based on teaching someone that has a passion for flowers and nature and to equip them as an Entrepreneur to open their own business. He also offers free aftercare classes to his students, who can visit him during the following month, for free advice and assistance. Hans, showcased his talents at the Johannesburg International Flower Show hosted at Waterfall City October to November 2019.
