Remember the Melkbos Ateljee Open Studios event this Saturday and Sunday 😀

Melkbos Ateljee is a group of local art enthusiasts whose mission is to promote local artists, engage local businesses, and support the next generation of Melkbosstrand artists by presenting an annual OPEN STUDIOS event, this year on the weekend of the 9th and 10th of September.

There will be 17 venues open to explore on the weekend - Saturday 9am -5pm, and Sunday, 9am - 4pm.

Some artists and artisans will open up their own studios, while others will display their work in communal venues all across the town. At these locations, you'll get the chance to interact with the artists and artisans, learn more about their work, purchase art work or just get inspired. Each participant’s location will be shown on the Melkbos Ateljee MAP.

Start at the Atlantic Beach Hotel, collect your map and follow the route to discover an art lover’s paradise of Melkbosstrand. At each location, maps will also be provided. This year, we are happy to inform that admission to the event is free. We urge everyone to take advantage of this offer and have a great weekend. Also don't forget about our special guests, which include the Vida-Lou Blooms Flower Art, the Melbostrand High School Choir, "Ouma Ella"- the winner of MHS Short Film Festival and the Poetry Corner. Tell your family, invite your friends and enjoy the very special Melkbos Ateljee 2023 OPEN STUDIOS event.

Sue strongly believes in supporting local flower farmers & local suppliers.
She believes in cultivating a strong relationship with her suppliers.

Sue has always had a passion for flowers, after years of friends telling her to open her own florist, she finally did during lockdown 2020.
Sue’s mom & gran had their own florist in the 70’s servicing their local community.
