Head Chef β Kitchen Republik Catering (Salt River)
We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen with expertise, efficiency, and passion. This is a senior role that requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of kitchen operations, and the ability to manage high-volume catering, particularly for the film industry.
πΉ Minimum Requirements:
β
10+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen and/or catering business
β
Proven ability to manage a team in a high-pressure environment
β
Strong financial acumen β experience with menu costing, portion control, and food cost management
β
Ability to build and implement kitchen systems that improve efficiency and consistency
β
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
β
Experience with bulk production and event catering logistics
β
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
β
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends when required
πΉ Key Responsibilities:
π¨βπ³ Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring quality and efficiency
π Handle menu costing, supplier negotiations, and stock control to maintain profitability
βοΈ Develop and implement kitchen systems and processes for smoother workflow
π½οΈ Maintain consistent food quality and presentation at all times
π₯ Train, motivate, and manage the kitchen team to perform at their best
π Coordinate with front-of-house, logistics, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations
