HISTORY:
Launched in 2010, the Cape Town Carnival has become a popular platform for community arts and culture, wacky art, and self-expression. People from all walks of life come together to experience the energy and creativity of the people of Cape Town.
“The Cape Town Carnival event is so much fun and it isn’t just a one-day spectacle that pops up and then disappears. It brings together creative artists, voluntary performing groups and leads, an array of diverse individuals who give their all to wow us on event day. We have built an incredible network of community leaders and give voice to a wide variety of communities.” says Prof
