We got to meet some Astronauts in Cape Town!

Our Paragon Africa Director, Lara Le Roux, seized the incredible opportunity to project manage the International Astronomical Union General Assembly 2024, held in Cape Town from 6-15 August 2024. This was the first time that the General Assembly took place on the African Continent.

Some of the conference highlights:
✅Two week full conference
✅Over 2,000 in person delegates
✅Over 600 hybrid participants
✅Open access streaming for free on YouTube
✅All sessions were hybrid as well as on Open Access
✅Over 1,5000 E Posters, on 100 screens that were also hybrid
✅Outreach activities to schools
✅Numerous side events
✅Public sessions
✅Live link up to a Nasa Space station on Women's Day
✅2 Astronauts attended & spoke
✅VR Rooms
✅Successful exhibition that was buzzing the entire time

What an honour to have played an important role in hosting yet another first, not just for Africa, but Cape Town!

As conference organisers, sometimes you get lucky and bump into sporting legends while onsite for an international conference! This week we crossed paths with the Springboks as they gear up to take on the All Blacks in the Freedom Cup showdown. 🇿🇦🏆

It’s moments like these that remind us how special Cape Town is – where world-class events and unforgettable encounters happen side by side!

Highlighting the 9th World Congress on Conservation Agriculture - WCCA9 in Cape Town!

On 22 July 2024, Cape Town hosted the 9th World Congress on Conservation Agriculture, where global experts gathered to discuss sustainable farming. We at Paragon Africa were honored to manage key aspects of this prestigious event including: abstracts, registration, accommodation, post conference tours, conference mobile app as well as the conference website design and maintenance.

Opened by Western Cape Minister Dr. Ivan Meyer, the Congress highlighted the region’s leadership in conservation agriculture, showcasing innovative practices that mitigate climate change.

As we continue to Create, Empower, and Inspire, we’re proud to have contributed to an event that will leave a lasting legacy in sustainable agriculture.
