BABALWA MENTJIES is an accomplished Jazz Vocalist, residing in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. She is a polished songwriter and a great vocal coach/entertainer, a University of KwaZulu Natal: School of Music graduate majored in Jazz Performance and also holds Postgraduate qualification in Marketing Management. She is a Music Educator/ Project Manager at IMAD (Khayelitsha Institute for Music and Indigenous Arts Development) and is passionate about community development. She is also a Founder Member of Amathunzi Arts & Development Centre. Babalwa is currently performing with maestro George Werner (Pianist) who is a Founder Member of IMAD/The Little Giants Band and has shared the stage with many of South Africa’s top jazz musicians, including Feya Faku, Marcus Wyatt, Diana Ferrus, Felicia Lesch, Melissa van der Spuy, Schalk Joubert, Amanda Strydom, Gloria Bosman, Neil Gonsalves, Sazi Dlamini, Blackie Tempi, Khaya Mahlangu and has performed around South Africa and abroad.

Babalwa Mentjies, is a versatile and highly experienced jazz vocalist. She is sure to captivate any audience with her soulful, rich, powerful voice and impeccable stage presence.

Babalwa performs with her band George Werner on piano, Peter Ndlala on bass, Muneeb Hermans on trumpet and Carlo Fabe on percussion.

Wayne Bosch is firmly positioned among a list of A-rate guitarists in Mother City and Tshwane. Several musical influences have marked his evolution as a player, from classic guitar language laid down by Wes Montgomery, to the more modern styles explored by the likes of Charlie hunter, Pat Martino, Martin Tayler and finger style whizz Tuck Andress.
Bosch hit the professional bandstand in 1996 with pianist and Bill Evans disciple Gerry Spencer who, along with local legend Alvin Dyers, has made enduring contributions to Bosch’s musical development. Exposed to international audiences from 1997 while traversing in the Indian Ocean with Spencer and Judith Sephuma on the cruise liner The Symphony, Bosch has since gigged and/or studied with the cream of Cape Town , talent including Basil Moses, Ezra Ngcukana, Esther Miller, Robbie Jansen, Mark Fransman, Mike Campbell And Daryl Andrews. He is noted for his work with vocalists such as French ace Deborah Tanguy, San Francisco Singer Opie Bellas and local star Emily Bruce.
