Being part of Nakita & Jarryd's intimate Union gave me little tingles all over. I was so happy to be able to work on some floral work after not being able to feel the excitement of wedding bells and florals. With everything that is going on, they said their "I do's" only surrounded by their close family members, loved ones and before God. The ones that matter most!

We are already passed the midway mark of January 2021😱 - how could this be?!

I always remember my mom telling me that as you get older time just speeds passed you. Oh how she was right!

We need to remember to celebrate the occasions life gives us! Today is my birthday and although I can't celebrate it as I would have usually done surrounded by lots of friends and family - I have chosen to celebrate it with my hubby and kids instead - and flowers ofcourse🥰

From the first moment Laura made contact with me, I just knew this was going to be special. During a pandemic, Laura knew what mattered most - to celebrate their love surrounded by their nearest and dearest. An intimate setting at the Quentin Barn was the perfect setting. This little gem of a restaurant already had so much detail, that it only needed just that little extra to make it worth a celebration. Laura had a clear vision in mind to bring Succulent Gardens in as Table decor, and we at The Rose Cafe added our floral love and recommendation to pair it with seasonal blooms and the divine Cafe Latte Rose.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude and gratefulness to our clients that supported us during 2020. This carried us through the year of "not so plenty" as hosting of events came to an abrupt end in March this year!

What is it that makes the Peony so special?

Well for one that the Chinese name for “most beautiful” translates to peony.

These highly valued flowers are native to China and often referred to as the “queen of flowers”. Peonies have been growing in Eastern gardens for over 4,000 years. As the imperial symbol, the flowers were spread across the country as different emperors moved their courts.

Before the plum tree, peonies were considered as Chinas national flower. And is still to this day actually voted by the citizens of China to be the true national flower. They also took an important role during the Sui and Tang dynasties since they grazed the Imperial Palace during that time. Because of this relevance, peonies also symbolize honor and wealth.

Today China celebrates the Peony by having a its own National Peony Garden and an Annual Peony Blossom Festival each year in Luoyang! The festival happens annually between April and May and lasts for a month.

After everything that had happened this year, we are taking a much needed break away. We are thankful to our loyal customers who have supported us through these tough times and helped us keep our doors open to continue creating wonderfol floral gestures of love!

We will be away from the 24th till the 31st October, and our Studio will be open taking orders again from the 2nd of November 2020.

This weekend will be BLOOMING beautiful as we celebrate national this Sunday the 11th of October 2020.

The year 2020 has been a year of reflection and making conscious changes. We had to revisit our normal and change so drastically and quickly that the only way to survive was to change our daily habits and shift our priorities.
