Over the past 2 weeks, I've driven large tracts across the Eastern and Northern Cape on a photo assignment. Two things have struck me. The absolutely glorious beauty of South Africa. Our surroundings are unashamedly unapologetic in their jaw-dropping magnificence. And then there are the broken, decaying poverty-stricken rural towns in a hopeless downward spiral, simply crying out for love and attention. Beauty and the Beast.

Wedding in Gifberg

Anyone know where Gifberg is? Easy really. When you know how. Head to Vanrhynsdorp. Right at the church, left at the first stop street, 25ks down the gravel road, right at Ou Berg. Up to the top of the mountain. Piece of pie. And it's where I found my bride, groom and their coolzies family and friends. Duh.
