Cape Town wedding Photographer. Real and Raw is my vibe. OH HEY THERE! My name is Lauren. MY FAVOURITE KIND OF MOMENTS ARE THE REAL ONES! I photograph what I see.

I am a born and bred Capetonian, animal lover, plant hoarder, wine drinker and a photographer. When I am not photographing weddings I like to spend my time taking my dogs for walks in the park, hiking, drinking wine, playing card games and collecting unusual plants. I am also a volunteer wild land firefighter and spend a lot of time during the hot season, on the fire line! I take too many photogr

My photographic journey started in 2006 in high school, and after many years of studying, assisting and second shooting with other photographers, I photographed my first wedding in 2014 and have been madly in love with photographing them ever since. I left my full time job in 2016 and am incredibly lucky to be photographing weddings full time since then. I currently have over 150 weddings under my belt and I still fall madly in love with documenting them every time I photograph one. Having the opportunity to photograph a wedding, is something so so special and something so incredible. Not only is each wedding COMPLETELY unique, I love the whirlwind of emotions and the little moments going on in-between everything. Those spontaneous and organic moments are important to me, and that is why I like to take a non-intrusive approach to photographing your wedding day. However, should there be a spot of perfect light that will add an extra level of magic to your photographs, I may ask you to go stand there for some beautiful portrait or couple photographs. My work is about so much more than creating a series of pinterest perfect images. Its about the real-ness of your wedding day. It's about the moments of laughter, and the moments when the emotions become too much. Moments of love, silliness and those moments of complete and utter euphoria. The missed moments and the love shared between two families. It is real, raw and 100% honest.

Taking a moment to admire the images from this lovely couples wedding day.  One of my favourite parts of the wedding day is the couple session. I think i have mentioned before, but one of my favourite things to do in winter down time is to go through some of my older work.

So i thought i would share one of my favourite images from 2024 with you.

This is from Phil and Ceri's wedding at .

One of my favourite parts of bride prep is the bride getting dressed with her party. During this portion, i LOVE to shoot with my 14-24 (wide angle) lens to capture the whole environment.

Tiny details from this part of the day are important (think hands doing buttons etc), but i love capturing the whole environment and the people that are a part of it as well as it adds so much more to the wedding day story.

Anyway, thats my little TED talk for the day... i hope you like this image as much as i do.

Hi Folks!

So its that time of season where i stick my face on the insta-grid and tell you a little bit more about myself.

So....

Hi, I am Lauren and I am the face behind this photography page.

When not photographing weddings you can find me volunteering for Volunteer Wildfire Services, drinking wine, wandering around markets or cuddling my fur-children (yes, my dogs and cats are my sweet angel babies).

My approach to weddings is plain and simple... I photograph what i see and without the fluff. I dont believe in overly posed, staged or pinterest styled images. The beauty lies in the people... the stories and connection they share. I grew up obsessed with stories and family history and photographs and i am so happy and so fortunate that i get to document peoples stories today.
