** BRASS BANDS COMPETITION **
Heritage day, Tuesday 24th September 2024

An added event to the Jive Culture Shock production this year is the . A stand-alone competition, separate to the choral section of the production, and will take place on Heritage day. The competition was developed to give the participants the opportunity to perform on stage as respected musicians and showcase their talents to the broader community. Under the directorship of Brett Marvin Edwards and Muneeb Hermans, you are all in for a surreal experience of jazz, orchestra and big band melodies.

The competition kicks off on September 20th, this Heritage Month, as the celebrates its 5th season.
With some of the participants fairly familiar with the platform and others not so familiar, we hope to showcase the immense talent our communities have to offer. Coming from areas such as Hanover Park, Athlone, Mitchell's Plain, Bokaap, etc., all these young guys have one thing in common: AUDACITY. They were bold enough to be a part of this production, so we really need to celebrate them as they step out on stage to entertain the audiences and prove that this artform still lives within our youth.
Teams have invested a lot of time and effort into planning and rehearsals, with managers, coaches, and support staff flexing their creative muscles, so we thank everyone involved for making this a reality.
