Save Our Beach Huts will be hosting our first major fundraising at Blue Route Mall this coming Saturday, 25th, in the form of a Telethon. We will have various celebrities who will, from 9am - 2pm be answering phones and hopefully raising awareness and money for us. Checkers have offered us a coffee cart so we would love it if you could come and have a coffee and a chat with us, and help rustle up support!! This is going to be such a fun event! We will be in the Centre Court near WOOLWORTHS. ❤️ 💛 💚 💙

This morning one of our directors found Michael (front), a key volunteer at Muizenberg Community Action Network (CAN), along with recipients of CAN's programme, cleaning the streets.

Michael's response to why they were doing it was simply: "The community has stepped up to help CAN feed those in need, so we're doing something to give back to the community."

Not even the weather could dampen the fun experienced by those at the monthly Village Vibes Street Market in Palmer Road Muizenberg. An initiative of June Homan from Joon restaurant, the market is a regular event on the Muizenberg events calendar giving locals the opportunity to showcase their wares, skills and talents. The first hut was completed today at lunch time. The best part was the painter on the project telling us he was so proud to have worked on the project, and one day he will be able tell his kids that he worked on restoring the Muizenberg Beach huts!
