My story begins as a mom of two beautiful twin girls. I gave up my position in the Public Sector to look after my twins and be a stay at home mom. My passion was always kids parties and i loved the different themes, colours and the excitment and amazement on the kids faces when they see their party setup for the first time.
With the help of my rock, my supportive husband we got a awesome website, Party Characters running, showcasing my goods and services. I started very small only selling party plates and cups, serviettes and party goodies. I kept my prices very low and got good responses and orders. Eventually with my profit (which i never spent by the way) i bought extra goods. Clients would call me to ask, βdo i hire out tables, jumping castlesβ etc and i started to stock the goods as per the clients requirements for parties.
What assisted me the most in my journey was social media such as Gumtree and Facebook where i could advertise my party services for free. I started with a following of 100 people on my page (mainly family and friends) and now my page has almost 9000 likes. My reviews are mainly 5 star reviews and i am humbled everytime by my clients appreciation for my work. I have people that return every year for their kids parties with me and those people i treat as clients as well as friends.
With the grace of the Almighty we are in business for almost 10 years. This would not have been accomplished without passion and dedication in my work and most importantly my staff which has been by my side for the past 10 years. I believe your staff members should be treated as you would want yourself to be treated, because without them your business would not flourish. I have great appreciation for my guys who cleans my castles to the lady that irons and washes my linens, and we have a very good relationship.
