As a child I often chose the cardboard and paint above any toy that was offered to me. As I aged, my analytical mind steered me toward corporate roles but my creative spirit was screaming to be unleashed. It was only when I became a vegetarian in 2003 that I was forcefully thrust into the culinary world. I was 19 years old and my mum wasn’t going to cook two different meals every night! So, I star

ted creating meat free dishes and more often than not, was asked to share them with meat eaters. After some time abroad, I returned home to South Africa and soon after I made the decision to eat meat and eggs again. I also studied towards a culinary diploma and qualified in 2011. I quickly made my way through restaurants, hotels and deli’s working long hours to show my head chefs that I was fully capable of any task. I met the man of my dreams, got married and gave birth two years later to an amazing little human. My recent birth, however, is Circle Catering. My halaal, small business I run from home in Westridge, Mitchells Plain. I have successfully graduated from a Walmart sponsored Grow Your Biz course with Gordon Institute of Business Science Entrepreneur Development Academy via the University of Pretoria. I am also currently completing a JASA Entrepreneurial Business Course. I create platters for any event and I also do catering for intimate celebrations. I am thrilled to be on this journey that God has laid before me. I am grateful for being able to create moments that my clients will be able to hold on to forever. I am also blessed to be able to show my daughter that a woman can achieve anything she sets her mind to! Thank you for supporting my small business. All my heart
Chef Candice
