After repairs to the main pipe and the tightening of a leaking fl**ge last night, water was restored to attempt to fill the reservoirs and provide some relief to residents.
Understandably, there was massive water demand last night and this morning during peak demand time.
This has resulted in the reservoirs being largely emptied of water and has caused outages in sections of Hout Bay and also resulted in some areas not getting water as yet.
Furthermore, a leak on the Suikerbossie line was identified however the teams pushed water to the reservoir in Llandudno overnight to allow for some filling of that reservoir for that corridor.
Teams will today flush air out of affected water reticulation networks as due to the prolonged water outage, air is in the system which complicates the movement of water.
The Suikerbossie line will be shut later today for repairs.
Teams are onsite managing pressures on the lines that allow for reservoir fillings and additional teams are being dispatched to assist with the flushing of air in the system.
Teams will remain in Hout Bay even after repairs are considered complete in order to monitor and observe pressures and network system conditions.

hello Rose again😉,as i said 2 years ago , we are for sure in trouble as the city council is not ready to fix the entire system as promised last year to start working on it ....excuses after excuses and we still paying the rates and we have got no excuse .It's always the same story as for the same places,and the statement about people with high demand is just some crap as the tourist season is over .i dont have a drop of water at all ....Thanks for the feed back and as you know its not finished yet and as for the delay ,i am kind of sceptical.🧐
