About The Chef's Best Welcome to The Chef’s Best! Enter the realm of delightful, warm, homemade traditional meals and fabulous party foods and party platters. We are a home-based and family-run food caterer in Cape Town. The Chef’s Best is dedicated to creating the tastiest and freshest meals and eats deliberately intended to rival a devoted mother’s home-cooked meals. Catering traditional meals and party platters is what we are about. The traditional meals are available to a group during a family event or corporate event and business functions. The traditional meals are also available to individuals just wishing to savor the pleasures of homemade cooking. We are based in Welgelegen in the Northern Suburbs cooking and catering in Northern Suburbs of Cape Town and beyond. Our traditional pies, traditional pastries, traditional lasagna and the good, old-fashioned bobotie are packed with goodness and flavor that clients who have tasted them can’t help but come back for more. The party platters and cocktail platters are brimming with freshness and scrumptious flavors designed to delight the eyes and tantalize the palate. We also create special chocolate cupcakes and premium cupcakes for your special party treats. Meet Your Chef Clinton Staal Clinton Staal is your enthusiastic Chef in Cape Town. Clinton’s love for cooking began when, as a young boy, he was asked by his mom to assume a role most youngsters would balk at - that of being the cook in the family while his parents were busy running a fledgling business. It wasn't long after he started defrosting routinely frozen meats and concocting flavorful family meals that his passion for cooking grew and developed. Soon it became a natural course for him to pursue this art and eventually run a home-based food business in Cape Town. His family is supportive of his chosen career and manifests that support by filling in various roles within the business. Clinton personally selects and buys the ingredients from the local suppliers. He prepares every food item – the traditional meals, the chicken pies, the steak pies and the pastries – all from scratch. The tastes and flavors of his homemade meals speak of the passion of a chef buzzing with enthusiastic activity in a home-based kitchen. What he churns out from his home kitchen, day in and day out, are truly, the Chef’s Best!
