THE ROSIE BRUCE BAND
The Rosie Bruce Band blend acoustic guitar, bass, keyboards and vocal harmony into a set of original afro-country and folk songs.
Rosie is a talented young singer who is accompanied by her father Cameron, a singer and songwriter who has been performing to audiences since the late 80’s and was a founding member of The Streaks. They are joined by Ian Cohen (of Bright Blue fame) on bass guitar and vocals. Ian is also an accomplished song writer, who’s songs feature in their setlist. Their newest addition is Ben Reid, Rosie’s cousin and supremely talented pianist. Ben adds a new touch of cape jazz to the bands sound as well as a beautiful fourth voice to the harmonies.

BLACK JACK DAVEY

Black Jack Davey is a Cape Town born singer-songwriter and guitarist.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Leonard Cohen, Oasis, and The Strokes, his indie-folk music seeks to meet his audience in a place of mutual vulnerability.

His debut album, Stories in the Dark, weaves together tales of love, loss, and isolation. He celebrates the tenderness of love while not shying away from its sometimes awkward and heartbreaking nature.

Let me introduce myself… I am Jodine Clare-Talbot and I am South Africa’s #1 HEART FANATIC! FANATIC [definition] – Excessive enthusiasm and often intense uncritical devotion!

I spent hours as a teenager with my shoebox tape deck and pencil (for precision wind back on the tape cassette to said phrase that needed multiple re-listens) trying to sing like Ann and learning to play guitar like Nancy.

This year I turned 50 as Ann and Nancy Wilson, the two female musicians who have had the most profound influence on my artistry and songwriting, celebrate their 50 year milestone in the music industry.

It’s all about HEART, the band and the music style I LOVE, the songs that feed my Soul and the inevitable alignment… I look forward to sharing my Mix Tape of HEART covers alongside the songs I’ve written.

STANLEY SIBANDE

Stanley Sibande is a South Africa based, Zambian born singer songwriter. He began his journey as a musician in his formative years when he would sing along with his sister to music by popular boy bands such as Nsync, Westlife and The Backstreet Boys. After finishing his studies in Zambia, he chose to leave his home Country and come down to South Africa in February of 2019 with nothing but his guitar and a dream to pursue music. His style is an amalgamation of the somber soundscapes of Indie and rock coupled with the simplistic yet catchy melodic compositions of modern pop and the various african rythms, melodies and stories he was raised around with influences such as The Weeknd, Seal, Oliver Mutukudzi, Ed Sheeran,W.I.T.C.H, P.K Chishala, Madosini, Novo Amor,

SARAH-LEIGH BURGER
Sarah-leigh Burger has spent majority of her musical journey in an alternative folk band called The Fishwives, as a songwriter and guitarist. Born in Centurion, brought up on Fleetwood mac, Dire straits, and dry winters veiled by veld fire smoke, she started playing and writing at 14. She left to study in Mkanda (Grahamstown), where she found like-minded fishy-folk to jam on patios, and croon in smoky bars with. It was here, fueled by the Arts Festival, that a band was created. She moved to Cape Town in 2015 with The Fishwives, where they played at numerous musical venues such as Alma Cafe, Barleycorn, Mercury, Cottage Club and became mostly popular in the deep south and played frequently at Camel Rock. They released their first album in 2019, called Algae, and their second in 2021 called In Flourescence (found on all streaming platforms).They’ve played at numerous festivals, including Grahamstown Arts Festival, Oppikoppi, Rocking the Daisies, White Mountain, Wild Spirit New Years Festival and STRAB. They won Silver in the Fresh Music Category at the Cape Town Fringe Festival in 2016. Inspired by artists such as Keb’mo, Laura Marling, and Mark Knopfler, Sarah shares stories of Sirens, Cats and the blues on sunny days with poetry and (mostly) gentle guitar melodies.
