2024...woah.

We are winding down to the festive season, and with an intense whirlwind of gorgeous weddings behind us and a handful left to do, we are satisfied, exhausted, and utterly grateful.

Yesterday, I was left pondering for ages about how us women (and men, of course) who own our own businesses can get so laser focused and completely stressed out about the state of our trajectory and the goals we have set that we can miss the little things that are happening around us.

Our family life can suffer with the long hours we work, and the tense state that business liaison can sometimes leave us in, can cause tension btw our relatives or partners if we take that home with us. Our friendships get neglected because we have no time to spare to just connect and catch up.
Our own bodies suffer with the pressure of long hours behind a laptop, grueling long hours on our feet and physical labour that goes with this industry.

And yes, we have our own timeline. We can manage that as we see fit. Yet, sometimes, that doesn't happen.
We have deadlines, social media, quotes, invoices, packing, unpacking, styling, floral prep, setups, takedowns ,relationship management, staff management (to name a few) to do on an almost daily basis.
So yes, we get off track at times and lose our balance.

But here's the thing.
There comes a time to just stop for a minute.
Breathe.
Take in how far you've come. Know that all your goals, plans, and dreams are not going to vanish if you rest for a moment. Look at your team. Are they winning in life with you, or are they needing some air and some tlc.

That guilty feeling we sit with if we're not working 14 hrs days is all a lie. That doesn't mean we slack off. It just means we regroup for a bit.

So anyway, what I'm trying to say is that 2024 was great (and a few more great moments to come), but I'm going to rest a while over the festive season. I'm going to regroup, refocus, reset, and come back swinging in 2025.

And I've even made a dinner date with friends for Friday night. Look at me go! 😄

You should, too.
And watch us go further than we ever dreamed possible.
