It's summertime on the west coast, but this day, the rain almost ruined our setup in the open-air part of @bosduifklip . As we were half way with setup, it starts drizzling for the second time, but also the last.
The sun came through at about 11:00am and what a beautiful day it turned out!

The first time ever a client did'nt want any flowers on her guest tables. She only wanted HERBS!
Table runners, set up with all kinds of potted herbs and candles! The lovely aromas of bazil, rosemary, fennel, parsly, oregano, thyme, etc filled the venue at night and brought the herb garden "into the house"!

So hartseer.... Grootvlei Guest Farm se kantoorkuiers met troues gaan nooit weer dieselfde wees nie. " 'n altyd Vriendelike, Gawe, Saggeaarde Lambertsbaai-seester het gister uitgespoel op die strand..."
Vir tannie Linke het ek 'n "soft spot" gehad. Die kuiers 11 uur in die aand (as sy nog in kantoor sit), was altyd die lekkerste. Bietjie ontspan en net rustig, lekker gesels oor die hele naweek...en syt altyd so uitgesien ná 'n lekker bord warm boerekos soos wat net Pieter dit kon voorberei wat opgestuur word kantoor toe. Van die troublomme wat ek altyd vir tannie kon gaan neersit het in die kantoor (wat tannie altyd SO bly oor was, al was dit die kleinste rangskikkinkie💐 of orgideë...) Tannie het die grootste waardering gehad daarvoor...0🥀
Ek kon tannie darem vir oulaas sien (wie sou dit kon dink....) toe ek ambulanspersoneel by hospitaal gehelp het om tannie uit te laai met rolstoel. Deur tannie se hartseer het ek belowe dat ek vir julle by Grootvlei gaan kom kuier as tannie weer terug is....
Buiten tannie se "altyd Vriendelik wees" was daar die seer en pyn waarvan min geweet het, maar tannie is nou verlos van ALS!
Vandag is tannie se plek by Grootvlei leeg. Tannie was sinoniem met Grootvlei en ek kon nooit daar wegry voor ek nie gaan groet het by die kantoor nie. Weet dat tannie mooi herinneringe by my agterlaat wat ek en ons span altyd sal koester.
Baie sterkte aan oom Edmund, klein Edmund, Linkie en ander familie. Mag ons Vader jul vertroos in hierdie hartseer tyd.
