❗For Identification Purposes❗🐍

The Red-Lipped Herald, Crotaphopeltis Hotamboeia, is a mildly venomous species that poses no significant threat to humans or domestic pets. Its distinctive features include olive-brown to grey coloring with white speckles and brightly colored lips, ranging from orange to red.

If encountered please do not kill, ✅ the easiest and safest method, would be to sweep the snake outdoors, or away from the property gently, or alternately call a snake remover. 🇿🇦

Last nights removal was definitely an interesting one, I was called out to a property in Annet Drive, Reservoir Hills for two brown snakes that the Customer had seen in their house, unfortunately they could not get any pictures and had no clue what type of snake they saw besides the colour. This made the removal even more interesting as I did not know what I was going for, as we do get venomous and non venomous snake species in the colour brown. On arrival at 21:00pm I began removing items out the garage and after an hour of searching I found the first juvenile Brown House Snake thereafter, a few seconds later I found the second behind house items on a shelf. Thereafter to give the customer some peace of mind we cleared all remaining items to ensure there was only two snakes and no more, which ended up finishing at 23:00pm. Luckily the snakes were unharmed and we're safely removed and relocated.

Name : Brown House Snake
Scientific Name : Boaedon Capensis
Harmless snake often found in houses in search of rodents and lizards no threat at all to humans and domestic pets.

What an awesome surprise 😁 we had today getting called out to the Pinetown area for this beautiful juvenile Mozambique Spitting Cobra 🐍 ( Naja Mosambica ) in an outdoor shed. Luckily the homeowner was swift and knew exactly how to keep the snake contained until we arrived✅. Mozambique Spitting Cobras are a highly venomous species of snake possessing a cytotoxic bite😱☠️, and yes as its name says, it does spit venom😶‍🌫️.

Spotted Bush Snake removal from Reservoir Hills property 🐍🇿🇦

07/10/2024

On October 6th, 2024, at 20:30 pm, a Phoenix area resident contacted Heads & Tails Exotics to report a brownish snake in their rabbit hutch that had moved into a hole in the outdoor wall. After reviewing a photograph provided by the client, our team confirmed the snake's identity as a harmless Brown House Snake (Boaedon Capensis). At the client's request, we proceeded to safely relocate the snake, taking the opportunity to educate the client on the species and its characteristics for future identification.
