Let’s take a moment for this incredible Bride Juliette and all of her magic 🥀and just completely blowing my mind as always.

Juliette has dreamt of having a red wedding dress since she was little, and when she came to me, we took our time to really process this and design a dress that was perfectly her.

Vintage, contemporary-classic and the perfect shade of red (which took a lot of hand-dying), now knowing Juliette, I couldn’t imagine a different dress of her.

It’s been a wonderfully busy week with our sale now coming to a close!

Lots of emotions of course with meeting new brides, having conversations about taking a break and saying a few hard goodbyes too.

There are still a few dresses that I am finishing up and I will be sharing here, and the journey will continue for a few months, as our brides have their special days and I receive their photos!

I am still looking for the right studio for the remainder of the dresses I still have, so they can find their Brides! Because as I said before I will be making art for some time, and I would love them to be in a special place where they can shine.

I am writing to you today with a mixture of emotions as I share some news regarding an upcoming change in my life.

I have made the decision to embark on a creative sabbatical. This decision has not come lightly, but I believe it's time to pause and breathe new life into my art.

It's an opportunity for me to explore new avenues, nurture my creativity, and ultimately grow both personally and professionally.

McCarthyWolff has been creating gowns for 12 years, and it has a giant piece of my heart, and I am not sure how long my time off will be, but I know I need to pause here, and make space for something new to grow.

I will be holding a big Wedding Dress sale in March – and finishing up the current Bridal Gowns I am working on. We will not be taking on any new custom bridal gowns.

If you need me you will be able to find me – where I will be painting artworks, murals, sketching figures, preserving bridal bouquets and playing - A LOT. Basically, I intend to spend an entire year covered in paint and flowers.

I believe that every season needs it’s time to shine, and this is my season to focus on my health, be an artist and a mom.

Thanks so much everyone for every like, follow and heartful word of encouragement, it has meant so much to us.

May we create again

Our beautiful Bride from Cape Town, who if you can believe this, didn’t come for a single fitting.

We did the measurements online, we had virtual meetings, we sized a dummy to her exact measurements, and then we couriered it to her.

It was a crazy ride, but she couldn’t come to Durban, and was determined that we made her dress.

Honoured is an understatement - Hettie you looked like a dream.

Its not just the dress, it’s the moment before the fitting, the dream that the dress fulfils and the expectations, memories and moments that the bride will experience wearing it.

Seeing the dress hanging on the mirror before a fitting, I often just take a moment to catch my breath.
