Celebration
When the [uncompromisingly] righteous triumph, there is great glory and celebration; but when the
wicked rise [to power], men hide themselves. Prov 28:12
The prophets understood the importance of using these prophetic instruments amongst them as they travelled, as a way of preparing the atmosphere, which would invite the Spirit of Prophecy.
1 Samuel 10:5-6 "After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines; and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp before them; and they shall prophesy. Then the Spirit of the Lord will possess you and you will be in a prophetic frenzy along with them and be turned into a different person."
Scripture: Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Psalm 150:2
Explanation: The Psalmist makes a grand finale on how we should praise God. The Psalm 150 describes a sublime [inspiring] “danklied/triomflied” of exciting praise to the Almighty God. It calls for a majestic orchestration of all musical instruments – the breathing, living, multi -talented, praising being called ..man.
And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir who had come against Judah, and they were [self-] slaughtered; 2Chron 20:22
He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honours and glorifies Me; Ps 50:23
Bless, give thanks, and gratefully praise God in full congregations [where?—alone, where nobody can see you ? nope ~ ] Ps 68:26
Let the oppressed and needy praise Your name. Ps 74:21
Combat
He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. 2 Sam 22:35
And every passing stroke of the staff of punishment and doom which the Lord lays upon them shall be to the sound of timbrels and lyres, when in battle He attacks with swinging and menacing arms. Isaiah 30:32
