Since many service providers like ourselves choose to work with Wedding & Function planners and not the client directly...
unfortunately we have had to durmb this down when hiring equipment or requesting a quote....

as most of the requests we get, starts with : I saw this on Facebook, How Much ?

basic info needed :
before we can tell u how much !

1. Date
2. venue
3. number of guests
4. or colour scheme / theme if we talking decor .

Viewing a post or advert and merely asking How Much ?
is difficult for a service provider to guess what you need .
Hard to quote without details costing does vary depending on dates ( peak or off-peak)
also venue/location meaning transport costs to be calculated

Moving on to a tent :

equally important will be :

date; venue ; number of guests;
type of seating meaning cinema/ church style or table setting / lounge cocktail setting.
this will help us determine size of tent allowing space for tables/ chairs stage/ dance floor / buffet tables etc etc
also what surface we will be setting up the tent on .
lawn or paving or tar makes a difference in our work or what equipment to carry

also many suppliers like myself have
Tents with white roof ; Clear roof; Black Roof etc
prices on these do vary meaning they are not the same .

you need to be specific as to what's needed
rather than going back and forth in quoting.

Recently many are having a problem understanding
The Glass panels / Doors option on a tent
1. The tent is often a rectangle . which has 4 sides
2. simple geometry would have taught us this. that a rectangle example 10x20m or 9x18m
will have 2x short sides and 2x long sides .
understood?
3. L shape glass meaning 1x long side and 1x short side will naturally make up the L shape . ( length and breadth)

we quote on a tent including pvc roof and sides standard. all tents come with roof and walls/ sides. this is understood.
glass and flooring or draping doesn't come standard with a tent .

when clients request glass,
we quote on tent eg. 10x20m tent incl delivery and installation
R20 000
then
we say Add glass:
this amount for glass will be added to the tent .
eg.
1x short side 10m glass R5000
1x long side 20m glass R10 000
( lol we have resorted to using language as long side & short side. apparently people don't know what is length and width anymore ) as many will ask which is the long side or short side.
we all should know 10m is shorter than 20m

so the L shape glass will mean R15000
(1x long side R10000 and
1x short side R5000 = R15000 )

meaning if the tent is example R20 000
then we say add L-shape glass for example R15000
Total with glass plus tent will be R35000

often folks get into a fuss about why we charge extra for glass
then flooring
then draping

it should be clear that we too purchase all these equipment separately as an investment. nothing comes with the tent and certainly nothing is Free.
