In a previous post I mentioned how much I enjoy foraging...

Recycling what mother nature throws out of her garden. I then challenge myself to bring this alive again and give it a new purpose.

Here I have started with a photoshoot backdrop, creating a fantasy world for those little ones to dress up, drink tea or play in a world they transport themselves to and where those moments can be captured and become portraits at home.

Whatever your idea or theme for doing a kiddies party or just a photoshoot, a babyshower, kitchen tea, give me a call and let's talk.

I love when an open canvas is handed to me and here I basically received a few important points to keep in mind when planning for this event, which was the name of the venue and VVIP coming for a wine tasting conducted by Capensis Wines

I worked with a beautiful selection of Fynbos, something special to this beautiful country we live in and the surroundings of this venue speaks for itself. It's a silence that hits your inner emotions that one needs to experience for oneself.

I brought in some pinks (for the rose lovers) for a pop of colour, a hint of reds and some burgundy tones (for those red wine lovers).
One thing I love to do is to forage, responsibly, and bring in elements nature has shaken off and I enjoy using those to incorporate them into my work and giving them a whole new purpose.

Like the grape vines in the one arrangement representing the wine-element with the berries on the side draping out.
The Kalanchoe flowers also represent the grapes but yet such a beautiful, unusual and stunning flower. These grape-like buds open up at the bottom and make the most amazing little flower – mother nature and all her little pretty surprises.

For the restrooms, I kept them very simple as the interiors are so exquisitely executed. I used Salix Discolor a.k.a American Willow, a beautiful long stem with the softest cotton-like buds.
My favourite Fynbos flower is the Pincushion and here I had it with the pink Snapdragons and a dash of yellow, on a sideboard installation.

Sometimes Less is more 😀
The simplicity of Blooms in a vase goes a long way.

I love to work with foliage in a vase, not just for the fact that it last longer and that you can do it yourself and much more affordable but green is the colour of life, its renewal, energy and nature.

It ads a calmness to any environment!

When I do floral installations in residential properties, I always aim to bring something green from outside in to the home.
Green is associated with meanings of growth, harmony, freshness, safety, fertility, and environment.

Something we all need and strive towards.

Even just some blooms form your local market will cut it!
These poppies and ranunculus I bought from my local flower grower, these lasted me more than 2week, with regular change of fresh water and a fresh cut of each stem you can also enjoy your flowers for much longer.
