She holds a BMus in piano performance from UCT and level 2 of the Australian Kodaly Certificate. She runs the Creative City Music Academy in Grahamstown and is committed to creating a high level of local music performance and education. Charles Antrobus discovered his love of singing at a young age and has sung in numerous choirs throughout his life, including RUCC and Pro Carmine. He is currently a member of the Cathedral Consort and Saeculum Aureum and enjoys singing solo when the opportunity presents itself. Theresa and Charles will present a programme of piano solos and sacred sung items
The Band is a group of talented friends, hailing from various corners of the country. United by their shared passion for music, Sambe Mavela, Musa Makgato, Bulelani and Siyabulela Mfuku bring a rich tapestry of influences and experiences to their performances. Individually, they have graced stages at numerous prestigious functions around Grahamstown and have captivated audiences worldwide. Now, as a collective, they blend their unique styles into a harmonious fusion of jazz that promises to enchant and inspire.
The Rhodes University Jazz Band, under the leadership of Rick van Heerden, has come to understand their individual capabilities as well as their understanding of their sound as a band. Recently, the band has performed in multiple performances such as the National Physics Conference with excited and positive reactions. The Rhodes University Jazz Band presents their version of famous jazz songs that highlight the individuals' talents and musical understanding.
It sounds like a great evening. See you there!
