We’ve all heard of Steampunk, even Cyberpunk, but have you heard of Solarpunk?
Asking questions like, ‘what does a sustainable civilisation look like, and how can we get there?’, Solarpunk conceives a future where communities and nature can live together harmoniously. Envisaging an optimistic future, the movement calls for innovative urban design and new approaches to architecture in order to restore ecosystems affected by climate change.

All seem a little too much like sci-fi? This ethos may not be as far fetched as we think, with some examples of existing architecture already reshaping 21st century design. Pictured here is the Cloud Fountain and Supertree Grove, both found at the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore.
