How it works

Conveniently and effortlessly book a dinner online for 4-12 people using the CHEFIT website. Choose from one of our seasonal menus on offer. A day before your dinner you will be matched with a CHEFIT Chef.

On the day of your dinner, we will send you a notification via SMS to let you know that the CHEFIT Chef is on his or her way. The Chef is scheduled to arrive 30-45 minutes prior to the first course being served.

Your CHEFIT Chef cooks in your kitchen, using your equipment, and will also clean up the kitchen when they are done. All you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy a delicious meal with your guests.

What do I need in my kitchen?

Our CHEFIT chefs don’t need much to cook up a storm! All that is required is a working oven and stove, running water, and enough dinnerware to accommodate the number of guests. In addition, we require the following kitchen basics:

Pots and Pans

Oven Tray

Mixing Bowl

Cutting Board

Basic tools (Tongs, knife, spatula, serving spoon)

Does CHEFIT provide dinnerware?

Dinner hosts are required to supply all dinnerware. This includes:

Crockery

Cutlery

Serving Platters and Bowls for larger parties

Glassware

Should you require any of these items, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Plated or Family-Service?

For groups of 6 or more, we recommend that your meal is served family style. Chat to your CHEFIT Chef about your preferences.

How far in advance do I need to book?

You are able to book anytime, however we require at least 24 hours notice.

Can I change my booking?

Yes - You may change your booking 24 hours prior to your dinner. Please contact us.

What if the CHEFIT Chef is late?

CHEFIT Chefs strive to arrive on time. If there is any problem or delay, our chefs are instructed to contact our head office immediately. We will then contact you to let you know what is happening.

If your Chef has not arrived at the communicated time, please call us. We will contact your chef to find out their location. We will then call you to give you an update on where your Chef is.

How do I pay?

There are two convenient methods of payment. Payments can be made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), alternatively payments are made prior to your dinner securely via PayFast, a secure online payment portal. Please note that a booking is confirmed, only once payment has been received.

Can I cancel my dinner?

Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for our full cancellation policy.

Who is my chef?

All CHEFIT Chefs come from a variety of culinary backgrounds. All chefs must meet our high standards and have gone through rigorous training and screening through our CHEFIT training programme. All chefs are fully accredited members of The South African Chef's Association.

Your CHEFIT Chef cooks, serves, packs the dishwasher and leaves your kitchen spotless.

At your discretion, you are more than welcome to tip your chef on the evening.

Which areas do you service?

Currently, we only service the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg. Keep in touch, as we will be expanding throughout Gauteng and other major cities in South Africa.
